Oh man I can't believe it's been 101 days since I've started Fyrescape. Seriously, anyone reading this, mark my words, keeping a blog when you're on a journey to better health, it really does help! It keeps you sharp and knowing that you have to write in this everyday really keeps you going, though it's not all that is. You have to also have the determination to do it. I have proven in my 101 days that you don't need to fancy pills, or fany equipment. All you need it to get off your ass, get out there and get it!!! That's it, that simple! So no excuses.
So I woke up this morning, still in shock over yesterday, but I took out those feelings on my walk. I did 6 miles and finished strong. It was good being out there. Still thinking about yesterday really makes me sick to my stomach, though. I'm so stupid for doing that to Lisa and my family. Yeah my Dad shouldn't have made me feel like I was gonna get that truck for my birthday, but still I shouldn't have acted the way I did. Very bad!
Well we had all planned for the last 2 weeks that we're going to have a movie night tomorrow (Friday). We (me, Lisa, Mom, Dad, my brother and sister) were going to go and watch the new Ninja Turtles movie tomorrow night. We're still planning on that so this morning after my walk, Lees and I headed up town and bought us some tickets. Before that, Lisa's aunt called and wanted a ride to her husband's work, then to give him a ride to their truck where it broke down. So we did that! This was also the day that I needed to get my bow sighted in for my bowhunt. So after we helped out Lisa's aunt, we went to the theater and bought tickets for tomorrow night, then we met my Dad at the Archery shop. Dad also bought tickets for the rest of the family before heading there. Anyway, the archery thing went really well. I got my bow sighted in at 20 yards. I have lots of learning to do. I've never practiced on a bow like I'm doing now. This thing is totally set up just for me and it's Amazing! One thing I hated, though, was that my Dad keeps treating me like I'm still 12 years old and he keeps worrying if I can pull back that bow. Ugh!!! I hate when that happens. YES I CAN PULL THE FREAKIN BOW BACK!!!! IT'S NO PROBLEM FOR ME!!! But yeah, he kept bugging about that. I guess he thinks I can't pull it back or else he wants to believe I can't handle it because it's more than he pulls. He's gotta realize though that I'm a man now. I'm not that kid from 15 years ago. But oh well, I got it sighted in. Now I just gotta work on my other points. 30 yards, 40 yards, 50 yards, and then 60 yards, but I don't know if I would take a shot at one from that range. That's pretty far! So that was what we did there. Lisa really wants to get into archery so I had her pick out a bow she would want and we're going to save up for it and get her started. She's really excited about that, as am I. Maybe next year, she'll come with us hunting. She's going to love that. She's a nature girl.
The rest of the day was pretty mellow. We just enjoyed it the best we could, tryna let go of yesterday. We watched IMPACTwrestling tonight. It was a great show. Lisa is on vacation until Sunday. I sure wish we could go to the ocean, which is what I originally wanted to do on my birthday, but with everything that happened this year, we just couldn't do that. So we'll see how next year turns out. Until then, we're having fun ;} Goodnight!

Day One Hundred - DPJ Birthday - REST DAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ME!!!!!! 33 years old...dang, has it been that long??!! Oh well, it's been an Awesome buncha years, let me tell you. I've been thru just about everything so I know that when I do have kids one day, I'll know exactly what to teach them and how to teach them. I'm glad I held off on that part of my life. Came close once, many years ago when I was young and stupid, but thankfully God pulled me out of that situation.
Well I gotta be honest, today was a really bad day! It ended on a good note, which is why I'm in an upbeat mood now, but the day itself was pretty bad. I Did Not get my new truck, let me get that out of the way! It's still sad to say but apparently it was all a HUGE misunderstanding. I took a Rest Day today because I didn't want to spend my birthday out there in the hot sun. I wanted to sleep in a bit, then just get right to the fun stuff. Well, I slept until 7:30am, which to me is sleeping in. Everyday I wake up at 5:30 so I can get my walk done before it gets too hot. Anyway, Dad came by and picked up me and Lisa. That got me even more excited about the truck. I figured we'd go out and eat, then he was going to take me back to Kirtland to pick up that truck. I was so excited this morning I couldn't think. Well, that did not last because on the way to the restaurant, ihop, he was telling me about other trucks he was looking at. He then dropped the bomb on me that "when you do get a new truck, make sure it's got good mileage on it and blah blah blah," in other words indicating that he's NOT getting me that truck! Yeah, I was devastated!!! I was so so so devastated. I felt like that little kid all over again who's parents broke a promise to him. It was crazy and on my 33rd birthday for crying out loud. So I did not enjoy breakfast. I was mad the whole time and I probably showed it too. I was hurt, heartbroken and angry. Typical feelings when someone makes you believe you're going to get a new ride, goes with you to test drive the damn thing, then talks like they're going to help you get it. That's exactly what my Dad did. He made me believe I was getting that truck. So by this point, I totally blamed my Mom. I knew she was the one who changed his mind. My Mom had a bad rep for doing that all the time. When it's my little brother, man she thinks the world of him and would do Anything and Everything for him. But me or my sister, we're just second rate packages to her. Or atleast that's how she's made us feel over the years. Anyway, that was how I was feeling. I was just blaming her for ruining my birthday wish. So the whole day I was mad! I was so down in the dumps, it was embarassing. Lisa tried so hard to get me out of it. For a while I did. She took me to the casino and I played some slot machines, just to try and get my mind off of things. I didn't win anything, which made those feelings somewhat worse, but at the same time I had fun so that really helped. We went home after that and she kept trying. I love my best friend so much because she tried so hard. Now, I feel so so so so so bad, but earlier I didn't know. Anyway she began to feel anger toward my parents as well because they made me feel like I was getting that truck, then they just take it away like that and don't even say anything. She was getting really defensive for me. Turns out, she had planned a surprise Birthday dinner for me. She was working with my mom and she planned on cooking me steak and iniviting everyone over. She ended up telling me that early on and said that because of how I was feeling, she was willing to cancel it. Being the angry person I was at the time, I told her to go ahead and cancel it only because I was feeling so down and angry, I sure didn't want to put on a fake smile in front of my parents that night and act like everything was ok. So, she cancelled it. My Mom wasn't too happy about that. She texted Lisa. I asked Lisa what that text was and she told me it was bad. She told me that my Mom was saying awful things to her and that she was really mad. So I got really angry and told Lisa to text her back and say something back to her. She did. Then my mom got even more angry and said more awful things to her. That's when I lost it and intervened. I texted my mom and told her to buzz off basically and that I choose what I want and don't want, NOT HER! I was so mad. Well, after that I shut my phone off. By this time, it was heading toward evening. The day was ruined. I was mad, upset, hurt, frustrated, and on the verge of flipping out! Some birthday, huh?! And all because of a truck, I couldn't believe it. Well Lisa took me to eat at the new Texas Roadhouse restaurant in the mall. It was good, but I just was not really into it. I was so angry and it showed really bad. Lisa and I got into an argument and I ended up making her cry. I felt so bad. Well it ended up spiraling downward to even worse levels after the restaurant. As the sun was starting to set, Lisa and I just sat in the living room staring at the floor, wondering how the hell the day, My Day, got away from us and turned out as bad as it did. I asked her again what my Mom said to her in that first text, the one that started this crazy argument. She read it to me word for word. Omgosh, apparently it was NOTHING like Lisa told me it was. She made it sound like my Mom was really mad and giving lots of attitude and I couldn't believe how bad she was. That's why I got mad and told Lisa to text her back. Well my Mom's text was very understanding. She was a bit upset that they had planned my dinner for about a week, only to have it canceled. She didn't like that but she was willing to still have it. I don't know where Lisa got the idea that she was angry. I was very upset with Lisa for taking that text wrong then reacting on it, BUT I in now way whatsoever, blamed Lisa for any of this. This was All me! Lisa was just getting defensive over me because of how I was acting all day so none of anything was her fault. It was all mine, or so I thought. I had Lisa call my mom and explain everything to her. My Mom forgave her and everything settled down. Lisa explained that she was defensive and that she took her text wrong, then told me about the text but in her words and how she understood it, which is why I got mad. So anyway, after that was settled, I called my Mom. She and I talked it out and I told her that Lisa explained everything to me wrong and that it was all a HUGE misunderstanding. Then, I dropped the news on her about how my Dad made me feel about getting that truck. She was not happy about that! She told me she was really sorry for how Dad made me feel. She said that apparently he told her that him and I were "just looking." I told her that is not how he made me feel and that's certainly not how he played it all out. I told her that he really made me feel like he was going to get me that truck so I was anticipating it for the last 2 days but then all the sudden he changes his tune and acts like it's no big deal. I told her that really devastated me! She understood. She said that it was very wrong of him to do that but also that she did not have any idea that's what was going on. She said he didn't explain it to her like that. She apologized for him and said that if she had known all that, she would've made him call me and let me know 2 days ago. She felt kinda bad about it. That's when I really felt like an ass!!! Because this whole time I was blaming my mom, she had nothing to do with any of it. It was my Dad, this entire time. He made me think I was getting that truck, but then he tells my mom we were "just looking." So yeah, that is how this crazy day got away from me! One Big Huge Misunderstanding!!!
My mom still invited both Lisa and I over to eat at her place, so we did. Lisa felt so bad and she was really crying. I felt so shitty about everything. I kept telling her that it wasn't her fault and that it was my fault for not knowing that none of this was supposed to happen. She was feeling really bad. I took the blame for it all though. I messed up my birthday. I really screwed it up big time. I should've just maned up and got over it! I can buy my own truck one day soon. I could start saving up now and buy it on my birthday next year, or for Christmas. Who knows! It'll be soon enough though and I was wrong to waste this day with sorrow and anger.
So we went to mom's. I hugged my parents and told them I was sorry and that everything was a big misunderstanding. Lisa did the same, but it took her a while to really get over the day. She was still crying and trying to keep it together. My mom kept telling her that it was ok and to let it go. My grandparents were both there. It was nice to visit with them for a bit. They all wished me Happy Birthday! I still loved my grandparents card and gifts. I was just so glad to see them both on my birthday. My mom and dad bought me a Blue-Ray DVD player, which was Awesome! They also gave me some movie theater gift tickets so I'm really looking forward to that. All in all, it was a meal and it ended my crazy day on a good note. I want next year to be Better, one of the Best days Ever!!! I hope God blesses me with another wonderful year. I know that being as how I'm on Fyrescape, next year I'll defintely be in the best shape of my life. I'm looking forward to that!
So now I'm happy knowing that things are settled with my family and that Lisa is now better. I feel so bad for what she went thru today. I'm going to try and make it up to her and everyone. I'll throw something together soon, hopefully. For now, I'm going to bed. Got get back at it tomorrow. I'm going to try and keep up 6 miles every morning this upcoming week. I took too many 3 mile days this past one. Lookin forward to another Great year! Goodnight ;)

Day Ninety Nine
Woke up early today! I gotta say though, I was not in it today. I never got that call back about the new truck yesterday....and all day today actually. This morning, I only did 3 miles. I wanted to do all six, but my mind was way to preoccupied. I kept thinking of the new truck and how much fun I'd have on my birthday whilst driving it around! There is a shred of hope though. My dad called me this evening, well more like late afternoon. He told me he wanted to take me to breakfast tomorrow morning and asked me to pick a place. So yeah, maybe he'll surprise me!!! I sure hope so. He sounded kinda excited, almost like he was holding something back, or trying to. So needless to say, my evening was pretty exciting!
My day sure got off to a really dull start, though. I didn't complete my six miles today, only three. When I got home, Lisa was still sleeping so I went ahead and took a shower and cleaned up. She awoke sometime after. I told her that I was just not in it today, then I told her that I'd like to go up town and eat at a restaurant. She got ready and we headed out. It was crazy, we were out there driving around and I couldn't even pick a place to eat. My mind was too much on my new truck. I could not figure anything out. We almost went to the Olive Garden. We parked in the lot but it hadn't opened yet. We left because I thought of another place to eat. We didn't go there and ended up eating af Furrs. During lunch, for some reason, I sure did not feel good about myself. That whole truck thing was starting to really get me down. This was all before my dad called me too so at this point, I hadn't heard anything and I was really starting to get down. Well, I went to the bathroom at Furrs and my downer mood started making me think I was seeing bad images of myself in the mirror. So I went back out to the table feeling cruddy. I was telling Lisa that I was really feeling down and that I was scared that I was gaining more weight. She told me to check the scale to be sure. I mentioned that I was way too scared. Because of how crappy I was feeling, I was almost certain that the scale was going to say another 4 or 6 pound gain. I told her I didn't want to see it.
Well, when we got home, I was really feeling cruddy. I felt bloated. I ate a healthy lunch of fish and vegetables, but for some reason I felt really bloated. Lisa was getting ready for work. Finally, I hit rock bottom and thought really bad of myself. I basically said, 'Screw It'! I was just going to check my weight and see how much I needed to lose. I was already feeling down so there was no point in being scared anymore. Just like pulling off a bandaid. So, I went to the kitchen and got on the scale.
It read, 323lbs. (I lost 6 pounds from the last time I checked on July 14th.)
I was totally Blown Away!!!!! I immediately got happy and the entire "downer" feeling I had immediately shattered. I lost six pounds. I don't know if that 4 pound gain was fat or muscle. Lisa thinks it was muscle because that was after I had really been hittin my 6 mile walks in the morning. Well, whatever the case, I'm down 6 pounds. This is my lowest weight ever! Even when I was busting my ass in June and the beginning of July, I never got below 325 for some reason so I was super happy. I know now that my body hasn't stalled in the weight loss and now it has just fired up my determination to lose even more! Maybe I'll hit my goal of reaching the two hundred pound range by September!!!! Omg that would be Awesome!!! But, I'm taking it one day at a time. I'm gonna keep on doing what I'm doing and trust in God. I know with His help, I shall accomplish what I'm shooting for!
So I may not have gotten the truck today, but knowing I'm down six pounds, well that's a wonderful birthday present in itself. Tomorrow I turn 33 years old. This is my last night to be 32. I'm looking forward to another Awesome year! Goodnight!

Day Ninety Eight
So this morning, I had to pick up Lisa at 7am. I wanted to get my whole walk done before that so like a Champ, I woke up super early today! I put my gear on and headed out while it was still dark. I took both Cooper and Cody with me. They were really excited! We headed out and did 3 miles. During that walk, however, we ran into this guy who was parked in middle of the road by the ditch. He looked like bad news. He was in a white truck. It was still dark out so I couldn't see his face. Just that he was wearing white and that he was drunk. He seemed really weary of me, plus Cooper got really protective over me. He was growling and barking at the guy. Cody was sniffing his truck and everything. The guy seemed kinda startled about the dogs. He talked to me, but he was really slurring his words. His back truck window was shattered. It had a huge hole in it and there was trash and beer cans all over the road where his truck was parked. I talked to him for a few short moments. I didn't understand what he was saying though. Finally I left with the dogs. I didn't know what kinda night that guy had, but it didn't look good. I never saw his face. On the way back, he was still parked in the middle of the road, same spot. That time, the sun was coming up and it was bright out. I didn't want to risk the dogs running down there so we took a detour. I stayed up on the hill rather than go down by the ditch. I walked over to the loop that I'll be running when the time comes and I did one whole lap to make up for the distance down by the ditch that I didn't walk. Once I finished, I called it a day. I didn't want to risk going back down there and running into that dude again. Who knows what they were doing down there. Plus, as nervous as he seemed, I'm sure it wasn't a good sign.
So I only did 3 miles today! It was ok though. Atleast I got some miles in. 3 is better than nothing. After I got home, I headed up and picked up Lisa because it was 6:45am when I got back. I got to her work just in time. She was so tired and I'm so glad I took her yesterday. We went to the gas station and I bought her some breakfast, then we headed home. After, she went to bed because she had to be back at work at 3pm.
My dad told me on Saturday when we had the conversation on the road that he wanted me to come over on Monday (today) and he wanted me to try out his old bow because he wanted me to hunt with it. He said he wanted to take me up to the archery store and get me all set up with that bow. I had never done that before. So when I went over there, we got his old bow out and looked it over. Then he took me up town to the expert archery place and got me set up. They measured my wingspan and got me set up with that bow. I'm pulling 73 pounds on his bow, which is more than my dad can pull. I'm proud of that. I remember when I was a kid. My dad was always into archery. So one day, I got his bow and I tried so hard to pull it. I pulled with all my might but nadda! I could not pull it back. I felt like a wimp. Now that I'm a man and I've really worked on my strength over the years, I can pull back some pretty tough poundage. Now I'm pulling 73 pounds and it's actually pretty easy for me. By next year, I wanna be able to pull more with ease. Anyway, they're gonna fix me up some arrows there and they want me to go back there on Thursday so I can get my bow sighted in. Dad is going to take me there. They wanted to do it on Wednesday but that's my birthday so I told them the next day. That's the plan.
After that, something really crazy happened. My dad was talking to me about a new vehicle. He says that my truck doesn't look like it'll last much longer. He really wants me to get a new ride. At first I took it as talk. Then on the way home, he took me to some car lots and we looked at some trucks. I thought that was pretty fun. All the trucks we saw were way out of a reasonable price range. All except one, which is the one I totally fell in love with. It's a huge white Ford F-150 King Cab truck. Oh my gosh it's super nice. I told dad I really liked that one. We test drove it and dad said he's going to help me get it. He's gonna buy it full in cash. He talked the price down two grand with the salesman. I am super excited. It drove really nice! It's big, has lots of add-ons that are really nice. The salesman offered to hold it for us if my dad put down a grand first, but dad said he's going to talk to my mom because she's gonna pay for some of it. So I'm super happy!!!! I can't wait to get this new vehicle. It's so cool because my birthday is coming around and I've always wanted a new ride for my birthday. This is a total dream come true :D
After looking at the truck, dad was trying to get a hold of mom but she wouldn't answer her phone. So, we got some lunch, then he took me home. I got back just in time to wake Lisa up because she had to go to work. I was happy, so very happy about the truck news. I told her and now she's super happy. I hope my dad calls back soon. He told the salesman that he's going to talk to my mom then he'd probably be back later that day to pick up the truck. So I spent the rest of the day, after Lisa went to work, cleaning up my room but totally lost in thought about that new truck. It would be so Amazing if I get it tomorrow or even better, on my birthday! All evening, dad didn't call me, but I figure it was too late anyway. That car lot probably closes early so I'm keeping faith that he'll let me know tomorrow. Ok, it's been a crazy exciting day! We'll see what happens tomorrow. Goodnight!

Day Ninety Seven
Up early today! My walk was nice and strong. I did my entire 6 miles today, just like I planned. I had a minor complication though. My crazy dogs. Cody was being naughty today! Soon as we got finish with 3 miles, he ran off from me. I don't know what the hell he was chasing, but he ran after something. I hate when he does that. So I waited for him a few minutes, but he didn't come back. Finally I gave up and just finished my walk, then he came out of nowhere. I was so mad at him. I took him home and tied him up. Then, I untied Cooper and took him with me. Cody knew I was upset at him so he just stayed in the shade and didn't throw his usual tantrum. Cooper and I finished out my 6 miles. It was a nice walk! I did not rest up though. I usually take a few minute break between the 3rd and 4th mile. I stretch out my legs so they don't stiffen up on me. It also loosens them up really good to where they don't start aching later in the day. Well, today because of Cody, I didn't do that. I just did the full walk. It was ok though. My legs didn't hurt though my feet were pretty tired. Lisa worked graveyards again last night, then today she's gotta go in for graveyards again, but she goes in at 6pm.
When I got home, I cleaned up, showered, then at 11:30am, I woke Lisa up. We had a big buisness meeting at church so we needed to be there. The meeting actually went really really well. I was so proud of our pastor. He is really looking out for us and he Always keeps God in everything we do or every decision he makes. The last "pastor" we had, that guy was crazy and I truly believe he was NOT an actual pastor. He just used the title so he can weasel his way into churches and take advantage of them so he can use it for his own personal gain. That's all he did. Anyway, our new interim pastor is nothing like him. He is a man of God. He always does what's right and he looks out for us. I'm so proud of him and I'm thankful to God that He brought us a good man to bring His word. I'm looking forward to the rest of the year and all the activities we have planned.
I'm wanting to start up my DDPyoga. I know I've been saying that, but I'm close to starting. I just get so busy in the evenings that I don't actually get to do it. Gotta add more to my daily workout routine. We'll see how that all goes. Lisa went to work at 6pm. I feel so bad for her because she didn't get much sleep. I sure hope she gets thru tonight at work. I drove her to work because I didn't want to risk her falling asleep at the wheel and I'm going to pick her up at 7 tomorrow morning. Ok, I'm tired. I've been finally cleaning up my room today. I haven't cleaned it in over a year so now I'm hard at it. Lots to do before I go to bed. Goodnight!

Day Ninety Six
Got up early and headed out to do my walk. Unfortunately, I only did 3 miles today :( Reason being, I was on my second walk, gonna start my 4th mile and ended up running into my dad. Lisa ran today. She was up ahead of me when my dad came up the hill. We stopped and talked for a long long time. Hunting season is coming up and I've got an archery hunt next month. He was asking me about that and we just started talkin hunting. I'm pretty excited about the hunt. I haven't been bow hunting in years. We're going up to Chama, New Mexico. The hunt is the middle of next month. This daily exercise and getting in shape, that's really gonna help me up there because Chama is super rough mountain land. The slopes are steep, completely vertical in some places. I'm very proud because I've been on my Fyrescape since April so I'm sure I'll be pretty good out there.
Anyway, my dad and I talked for a long time. Pretty soon, Lisa came running back up the hill toward us. She ran the whole 3 mile trail and was coming back. Once she passed, dad and I talked for a little bit, then his dogs ran off after Lisa so we had to cut our conversation and get his dogs back. I just called off the rest of my walk because it was getting pretty hot out, plus I needed to go catch his dogs and take them home.
My grandpa called today. He asked for my help in removing his camper on his truck. He needed to use his truck for work and didn't have any help. So, Lees and I went over there. We took off his camper for him. That was nice because I hadn't seen my grandparents in a while. I usually see them often, but I haven't lately, not since the VBS at our church. I got their voicemail when I got home from my walk this morning. My phone was charging so I didn't catch the call. Grandpa gave me my birthday present early. My grandma wasn't there. I had just missed her. She went to the laundry. They gave me a really nice card, which I'm going to hang up in my room, along with $50 and a $25 dollar Walmart gift card!!! I was so happy. I really loved the card also. It basically says (in grandpa's words) "Sometimes life will give you hell, but grandparents are Always there for you" hahaha I loved it!!! I love my grandma and grandpa so much. They truly are there for me always and even though I'll be 33 years old, they still see me as their little grandson running around playing with Ninja Turtles LOL. It's always a treat being with them.
The rest of the day, I kept busy at home. I need to clean up my room really bad. So much to do around the house. We've been getting lots of rain somewhere nearby. It's been nice these last few evenings. Cloudy and the smell of rain. We're not getting too much actual rain here, but it's been ok. Nice and cool, atleast. Ok, tomorrow I'm defintely gonna do my entire six miles. I drank a whole gallon of water today, yay!! Dang I really need to get used to that. Water helps your body drop weight and burn fat. It also does great for your skin and helps clean toxins out of your body! It does wonders so Drink Up!!!!
Goodnight!

Day Ninety Five
Back at it today! Started off my Friday with 6 miles. I really do hope I'm getting somewhere as far as my weight loss is concerned. To be honest, that 4 pound weight gain is really eating at my mind. Lisa thinks its muscle gain, and I sure hope she's right. I'm eating much better now. Still need to beef up on the vegetables. I just haven't gone to the grocery store.
My walks are getting so much easier. 6 miles everyday sure builds up my legs and my body strength. I can remember a year ago, there's no way I'd be able to to 6 miles, much less 6 miles everyday. It's crazy!
The rest of the day was spent paying a few bills. The Connie Mack World Series (baseball) parade started today. They're having the Connie Mack games starting today up until next week sometime I believe. I watched a bit of it because Lisa was getting a loan and it was on the street the parade was happening. Lots of young kids in the parade...oh man but there was this woman riding on the back of a red car. She was Miss...something, I couldn't read her sign. She looked like she was in her mid 20's. Oh man that was one Fine Looking woman. She was total model material. I wish I knew her, or had the chance to meet her. She was super HOT. I'll probably never see her again in my life, but those few short moments I did see her, she was Amazing!
I'm drinking my gallon of water per day! It's tough because sometimes you forget that you're supposed to be doing that. It's gonna take me a while to get used to it but I'll get there. Well, that's about all I've got for today. Time to hit the sack. Long day tomorrow! Goodnight ;}
