So this morning, I had to pick up Lisa at 7am. I wanted to get my whole walk done before that so like a Champ, I woke up super early today! I put my gear on and headed out while it was still dark. I took both Cooper and Cody with me. They were really excited! We headed out and did 3 miles. During that walk, however, we ran into this guy who was parked in middle of the road by the ditch. He looked like bad news. He was in a white truck. It was still dark out so I couldn't see his face. Just that he was wearing white and that he was drunk. He seemed really weary of me, plus Cooper got really protective over me. He was growling and barking at the guy. Cody was sniffing his truck and everything. The guy seemed kinda startled about the dogs. He talked to me, but he was really slurring his words. His back truck window was shattered. It had a huge hole in it and there was trash and beer cans all over the road where his truck was parked. I talked to him for a few short moments. I didn't understand what he was saying though. Finally I left with the dogs. I didn't know what kinda night that guy had, but it didn't look good. I never saw his face. On the way back, he was still parked in the middle of the road, same spot. That time, the sun was coming up and it was bright out. I didn't want to risk the dogs running down there so we took a detour. I stayed up on the hill rather than go down by the ditch. I walked over to the loop that I'll be running when the time comes and I did one whole lap to make up for the distance down by the ditch that I didn't walk. Once I finished, I called it a day. I didn't want to risk going back down there and running into that dude again. Who knows what they were doing down there. Plus, as nervous as he seemed, I'm sure it wasn't a good sign.
So I only did 3 miles today! It was ok though. Atleast I got some miles in. 3 is better than nothing. After I got home, I headed up and picked up Lisa because it was 6:45am when I got back. I got to her work just in time. She was so tired and I'm so glad I took her yesterday. We went to the gas station and I bought her some breakfast, then we headed home. After, she went to bed because she had to be back at work at 3pm.
My dad told me on Saturday when we had the conversation on the road that he wanted me to come over on Monday (today) and he wanted me to try out his old bow because he wanted me to hunt with it. He said he wanted to take me up to the archery store and get me all set up with that bow. I had never done that before. So when I went over there, we got his old bow out and looked it over. Then he took me up town to the expert archery place and got me set up. They measured my wingspan and got me set up with that bow. I'm pulling 73 pounds on his bow, which is more than my dad can pull. I'm proud of that. I remember when I was a kid. My dad was always into archery. So one day, I got his bow and I tried so hard to pull it. I pulled with all my might but nadda! I could not pull it back. I felt like a wimp. Now that I'm a man and I've really worked on my strength over the years, I can pull back some pretty tough poundage. Now I'm pulling 73 pounds and it's actually pretty easy for me. By next year, I wanna be able to pull more with ease. Anyway, they're gonna fix me up some arrows there and they want me to go back there on Thursday so I can get my bow sighted in. Dad is going to take me there. They wanted to do it on Wednesday but that's my birthday so I told them the next day. That's the plan.
After that, something really crazy happened. My dad was talking to me about a new vehicle. He says that my truck doesn't look like it'll last much longer. He really wants me to get a new ride. At first I took it as talk. Then on the way home, he took me to some car lots and we looked at some trucks. I thought that was pretty fun. All the trucks we saw were way out of a reasonable price range. All except one, which is the one I totally fell in love with. It's a huge white Ford F-150 King Cab truck. Oh my gosh it's super nice. I told dad I really liked that one. We test drove it and dad said he's going to help me get it. He's gonna buy it full in cash. He talked the price down two grand with the salesman. I am super excited. It drove really nice! It's big, has lots of add-ons that are really nice. The salesman offered to hold it for us if my dad put down a grand first, but dad said he's going to talk to my mom because she's gonna pay for some of it. So I'm super happy!!!! I can't wait to get this new vehicle. It's so cool because my birthday is coming around and I've always wanted a new ride for my birthday. This is a total dream come true :D
After looking at the truck, dad was trying to get a hold of mom but she wouldn't answer her phone. So, we got some lunch, then he took me home. I got back just in time to wake Lisa up because she had to go to work. I was happy, so very happy about the truck news. I told her and now she's super happy. I hope my dad calls back soon. He told the salesman that he's going to talk to my mom then he'd probably be back later that day to pick up the truck. So I spent the rest of the day, after Lisa went to work, cleaning up my room but totally lost in thought about that new truck. It would be so Amazing if I get it tomorrow or even better, on my birthday! All evening, dad didn't call me, but I figure it was too late anyway. That car lot probably closes early so I'm keeping faith that he'll let me know tomorrow. Ok, it's been a crazy exciting day! We'll see what happens tomorrow. Goodnight!
