Day Two Hundred Twenty - Farmington Christmas Parade

Parade Day!!!!

Well this was it!  I was busy most the day.  This morning I put weatherized plastic on my windows to keep the heat inside.  It's been cloudy the last couple days.  Today it was raining all day long, since last night!  When Lisa got back from school, we headed up to the church and covered the float.  It was raining harder in town, but we got everything covered.  Afterwards, we got some lunch, then headed home for a couple hours until 4pm, then we had to meet everyone at the church and get ready to head to the lineup at 5.

When we got there, ppl were starting to show up.  Right away, we got to work and begun hanging our signs and putting the finishing touches on the float.  We worked until about 4:50 then we loaded up and headed over there just after 5.  I tell ya though, I had a problem.  Most the afternoon, everyone was calling me complaining that it was still raining.  I even had someone suggesting that we cancel our float.  I flat out said, We Only Cancel if the Parade Itself Cancels!!!  I hate when ppl just want to give up like that.  I'm not like that!  I finish everything I start, one way or the other.  Anyway, just to ease everyone's minds, I called the Chamber of Commerce and asked if the Parade was still on, and they said YES!  They even posted it several times on their facebook page.  Well, we still went over there.  We were very blessed though because once we got to the lineup...the rain stopped!  It was nice out there.  Cloudy, but there was zero wind and no rain.  I had two ppl pull out from helping me, which sucked.  Their lame excuse was "because it's raining and they didn't want to walk in the rain"..oh please!  They're just LAZY!!!  I had young kids helping me and they were ready to roll.  These two are grown up, young adults...so ya they were just lazy.

Anyway, the parade was Awesome!!  A lil different from last year.  We were all bunched up at the starting point for a while, but it didn't take as long as last year because we were toward the front of the parade.  Last year, we were dead last, just before the Santa Claus dude on the firetruck.  But yes it was great!!  Everyone had a great time.  Our Pastor's wife sang, The Little Drummer Boy in front of the judges booth.  It was really good!  When we to the end, everyone jumped into the van and we headed back to the church.  Some of our members met us there and we all had dinner together at the church.  Great food and laughs.  We all talked about the other floats and we even started tossing out ideas about what we want to do next year!  It was all so great :D

Dang I am super tired.  I can't wait to sleep.  After church we came home.  I dropped some stuff off at my dad's, oh and I had to take my brothers car home because he went out with his buddy.  Now, I'm going to go to bed.  I am so so so sleepy.  So, until tomorrow, Goodnight!  it was a great day ;)
