Day Two Hundred Thirty - 2014 Christmas Program

Happy Holidays ;} Today was our Christmas Program at our church. It's been a tough week practicing, organizing and getting everything ready! I chose to not walk today because all day yesterday it rained and it rained last night too. Yes rain, no snow :'( I was not going to risk slipping in the mud and hurting my foot like I did last time, then be out for another week or so. That's why, No Walking today! It's cool too because I was busy the morning getting things done around the house.

We went to church and that went well because I got everyone cleared on when we were meeting at the church and what order we'd like to go in. Pastor really put me on the spot again and recognized me as Program Director, which he's been doing since I did Hallowed Eve 7 back in October and I really Really appreciate that, honestly. I have never had that before! I do things at the church every year but no one ever recognized me for my efforts. Times that I would bring it up, I would get the same words from my mom (who ran most things in the church before) that we're not supposed to do things to get credit and that we do it for God. I get that, I always did! I wasn't wanting credit and praise, all I ever really wanted was to be recognized for the hard work I do for the church, that's all. Because it is hard work! I just wanted to know that everyone knew that I did it and they appreciated it. That's all! I never thought that was too much to ask. Anyway, Pastor has given me that since I started and I didn't ask for it either. I never mentioned anything to him. He is just a very respectful man and always thanks everyone! I'm just so happy that he has done that.

Anyway, church went great and I planned for everyone helping with the puppets to be there at 5:30pm. The program started at 6. My mom text me this morning and said they had just got to Amarillo, Texas. I expected them home around 1 or 3pm. They were at the program tonight, which I was so glad of. My sister, who was doing our main puppet acts, wanted to do it tonight. My brother was filling in for her, but he graciously stepped aside and let her go ahead and do that act, which I was proud of him for doing. All the kids did great tonight! We practiced on the puppets all week long, since Tuesday. They did superb tonight and all their mouth movements were on point. It looked good and the audience really took to them. There were ppl laughing, taking pix and recording video and that's what I loved to see!  Pastor did great announcing everything. We all had a good time! After the program, we had refreshments with all the visitors and members who attended. I didn't eat very much. I'm just glad everyone got food and go to take some home.

So that was our Christmas Program. We did 2 puppet skits and 2 songs with the puppets. Pastor's wife, Faye, did her own puppet song with her family. That did that before my kids did their acts. I didn't have everyone there though, which was a bummer. I asked this other church about 2 weeks ago to come help out with music. They said they were going to and I left my number with them. I waited and waited, no call. Never heard from them again since that night she said they'd help. Either they forgot or they changed their mind. Either way, I thought that was very classless and rude!!! So because of that, I didn't have a full card of things for the Program. Mainly just the puppets, that's it, but it was still really great and everyone still had a great time!

Well that's about all for the day. Dang it is really cold tonight! I got my pellet stove burning and it's been on since 9pm, but it's still cold in here. So now I'm going to put on a sweater and wrap myself up to get warm. I hung Christmas lights outside tonight, finally! They don't look the best, but I didn't care. Just as long as I got them up. I wanted to celebrate a superb Christmas Program in my own way so I did that lol. Anyway, Happy Holidays and to all my kids who helped out with the puppets this year, You all did a totally Superb job!! Thank you very much for your hard work!!  Goodnight ;}
