Day One Hundred Seventy Nine - Hallowed Eve 7

THIS IS...THE DANCE!!!!

I said that this morning haha!  Well today was the day.  Hallowed Eve 7.  Oh man, all I can say is that is was a BLAST!!!  It was so so so successful and everyone had a very wonderful amazing time!  The games were a success!  There were so many kids there and people from all over town.  Visitors from other churches.  Oh man it was so fun!  The theme of Hallowed Eve 7 was Ninja Turtles.  Every year we have a theme.  Last year it was Super Heroes.  This year, Ninja Turtles.  Every game had a Ninja Turtles theme to it.  I also had the obstacle course out back with I called 'Leo and Raph's Obstacle Challenge'. Oh man I can't tell you how much fun everyone had on that one.  Even the adults got into that.  My mom and our Pastor's wife raced each other and that was the BEST one of all.  Ppl were laughing, screaming, yelling and just having a super fun time.  The next best one was the one I called, 'Shredder's Gauntlet'.  It was a modified "cake walk" game but I had the numbers scattered all over the sanctuary.  Pastor ran that game for me and he made is so fun!  He had all the kids screaming and laughing.  It was fun and funny!  Lots of prizes and treats given away.  Next was the 'Ghost Hunt'.  Me and Lisa ran that one.  Everyone had a great time in there trying to find tokens.  When Pastor went in there, he was crawling around on the floor trying to find them hahaha.  Everyone was complaining about that and tripping over him lol.  My mom and dad did face painting and that was so cool because all the kids had their faces painted.  They did great work too, even my mom who complains that she can't draw.  All the other games were fun and everybody had a great time.  I held two separate costume contests.  One was the regular contest for everyone who was dressed up.  The second one was the 'Hallowed Eve Costume Contest'.  That one was for everyone dressed for the theme 'Ninja Turtles'.  There were so many cool costumes.  Most kids were dressed as turtles, but my uncle came dressed in a homemade Shredder costume!  Oh man that was so cool!!  He made his helmet and blades out of cardboard and had a purple cape on lol.  That was Awesome!  He definitely would've won the costume contest but he decided not to enter, I'm guessing either because he was too shy or because he wanted it to be only between the kids.  It was very Awesome, that whole thing.  The winner of the Hallowed Eve Costume Contest got two whole pizza's and a turtles dvd.  The second place got a Ninja Turtles action figure.  As for the food, we had so much food there.  Only problem, I did not get to eat.  I had a few bites but I swear I was so so so busy the whole night.  Before the event started, I was running around trying to finish setting everything up.  Since I was the host, I had to open the event and introduce all the games and contests to everyone.  After that, Pastor gave a small message on the Halloween holiday and how it relates to Christians.  Very interesting stuff.  Before Halloween became what it is today, it tied into a Christian thing.  It's pretty neat!  Look that up and read about it sometime.

Anyway, so I was so busy all evening long.  I didn't get to eat anything and oh man was I tired by the end of the night.  I was being pulled in so many different directions.  Everybody wanted this and that.  I had to make sure the games were going right and make sure that everything was ok.  I oversaw the Obstacle Challenge to make sure they ran it right out there, as well as the Gauntlet game.  Oh yeah, one slight problem we had was that annoying kid I mentioned all week.  He was there, obviously along with his sister.  Now his little sister, we had absolutely No complaints about her.  She was an angel.  Him though, oh my gosh that kid was horrible.  He had fun, yes, but the other kids were complaining about him.  He cheated on a few games and he snuck into the 'Ghost Hunt' game twice.  I only pick a certain number of ppl to go in there because of the space.  Well after I did that, he snuck in and found a token, then he came out.  So the little brat ran up to the prize table (without me knowing about it) and took his pick of a prize which was wrong because I pick the prizes for everyone since I was running it.  So he picked his own prize and ran off with it, then he comes back.  I did not know he had done that so when I came out, I go over there and pick out a prize and gave it to him.  I didn't even know he snuck back in there, nor did he tell me that he had already picked a prize.  So, the little punk got 2 prizes!  Oh man afterwards, the other kids came up to me and said that he snuck back in and that he cheated.  Later, I found out about the prize theft that he pulled.  I was very upset and so were the other kids.  He also kept bugging me about everything and wanting specific prizes.  I flat out told him No because everyone gets whatever I give them.  He's no special case.  Anyway at the end of the night, he left with lots of candy and lots of prizes.  Who knows what other mischief that kid got into because I wasn't watching him the whole night.  He was being disruptive out back during the Obstacle Course Challenge too.  He was the first one to race in there and then he kept wanting to go back in and do it again.  I kept telling him NO because we had so many kids and everyone wanted to try it so we had to limit everyone's turn to just once!  Plus, everybody got a red bandana or a blue bandana when they completed the challenge.  So yes, that kid was so so disruptive.  As much as he was there bugging everyone, I sure hope he starts coming to church service every Sunday.  I don't want him coming around only when we're doing something like this.  He needs to be there all the time.

Anyway, the night ended and everyone was tired and wiped out.  Since all the food was gone and we didn't get to eat hardly, I took Lisa to get some food afterwards, then we came home.  I definitely got plenty of exercise today.  I had never been so busy and running around so much than I was today.  This morning we finished setting up and Lisa finished up the Ghost Hunt area.  Grandpa and I finished the Obstacle Course.  Grandpa made me some golf clubs out of wood for the Obstacle Course.  One thing was my mom kinda halted everything.  Grandpa wanted to buy some beef and cook hamburgers for everyone.  Well he asked my mom about it (why, I don't know) and she said No and that we're keeping the menu simple.  I got mad about that!  I told him that she wasn't running this evening I WAS!!  So I texted everyone and told them that they could bring anything they wanted and that we didn't have a set menu or anything.  Grandpa was pretty happy about that so we went into town and bought some hamburger patties then he went home and cooked them all and brought them to the event this evening.  Lisa and I finished the decorating, then we headed to Walmart and bought everything we needed.  Afterwards, we came home and got dressed up, the headed back to the church.  Oh and this morning, I wanted to buy some straw bails, but they were out of them where I went, so instead I bought hay bails for the photo area.  It worked!  I also bought some blocks so we could use them in the Obstacle Challenge since we were short a few.

Well that was my day and that was the Hallowed Eve 7 event.  This year was so fun and everybody had fun!  I'd have to say that it was the Best one yet!!!  For next year, Pastor is already talking with me about it and he wants to help me make it even Bigger!  I'm lookin forward to that one for sure.  We'll make it a Master Event ;}  Ok, I'm super tired.  I'm going to relax and then tomorrow morning, Lees and I are goin back to the church and we're gonna take Everything down.  The members are goin to meet us there too and we're gonna clean the place up.  Lots of work.  Ok, time for bed.  Gonna dream about how much greater I can make it next year, with God's help and ideas.  God bless!

Goodnight!
