Day One Hundred Seventy Eight
Wow, today was...whoa it was really busy!! I did not walk today, but instead as soon as I got up, Lisa was already gone for school. I got ready, then headed to the church. I got there before anyone else. I started finishing up the Ghost Hunt area. While I was working on that, grandpa came and immediately started working on the face painting booth. I wanted a little room in the back of the sanctuary so grandpa took measurements and started building it. I kept work on the Ghost Hunt. Soon, Lisa came by after school let out and we got right to work. Busy busy busy!
We finally worked on the balloons. Of course, I had to go and gather them all up because of that annoying kid who was there last night! The balloons were everywhere and he apparently popped some of them. I also cleaned up the sanctuary because it somehow got really messy. Our decorating is really detailed. We used actual tree branches so there were broken sticks everywhere as well as popped balloons and pieces of black plastic and fishing line all over the place. It was crazy!
Lisa hung the balloons just the way I figured she would. We put them up over the ceiling and had them hanging down in a long line across the entire sanctuary. It looks so nice in there! All the games are set up. This evening, my dad came by the church along with my brother. Right away, dad and I started setting up the obstacle course out back. That contest is going to be so fun! The thing we worked on right way was the maze. I wanted to build a maze that the contestants are going to have to race thru. We used chairs for the walls and corners. It was so fun to build. Dad helped me with that. We thought up a good design for it and just used chairs and string. That took a couple hours because it was a very detailed maze. To make matters even more difficult...that crazy annoying kid came back. He kept wanting to go explore in the church because we had it all decorated. We kept trying to chase him off in a polite way because nobody was going to be there like the past two days. It was just me, grandpa, grandma, Lisa, my brother and my dad. That was it! No one else was coming. So anyway, this kid kept bugging us. I let him in the backyard because he wouldn't go away, but that was a mistake. He kept trying to come into the maze we were working on but we kept chasing him out because we didn't want him figuring out how to get thru it then cheating tomorrow night. He's just so annoying! He wouldn't listen either. Even my dad was losing patience with him. Eventually it started getting dark and he was still there, then his little sister showed up. They kept wanting to go into the church but I wouldn't let them. Finally, because of how dark it got, we chased him home. They're just kids and they did not need to be out away from home that late. One of the members walked them home to make sure they got there safely. Oh man, that was a chore though. Anyway, we got the maze done, then set up the other things for the obstacle course. Now all we need to do is add a few more things, but grandpa and I are going to do that tomorrow morning.
Well, I'm finally home now. The church is just about done! Everything is decorated and it looks Amazing over there. We just have to put cardboard boxes in the Ghost Hunt and add some straw bails to the photo area, then finish the obstacle course, and we are completely done! I'm so tired. Boy this week as been busy. Tomorrow is the day! Let's hope it goes Awesome! For now, I'm going to relax and fall into a deep sleep. Until tomorrow, Goodnight!
