Day Thirty Three

Today is my little brother's B-Day!!!  ....I have no idea how old he is.  23, I think.  He's ten years younger than me, I believe.  Just a kid still.  I can remember when he was running around in diapers hahaha.  Anyway, because it was/is his birthday, I allowed myself some cheat meals.  I didn't want my family to feel bad.  They took him to K-BOB's steakhouse for lunch.  They invited me and Lees along.  I didn't want to get steak because I already cooked one outside a few days ago, as I mentioned.  So, I stuck to Salmon with rice and veggies, oh and a salad, and water.  It was a lot better than getting another steak or a hamburger.  I loved the salmon too, it was really good.  Tasty!  It was not a health meal though because it was all seasoned up like crazy and the rice was greasy.  Yeah, not good but because it was his B-day.  After we ate, Lisa had to go to work.  The rest of us went to see the movie, Malificent.  Omgosh let me tell you, that movie was Awesome!!!!  I really loved it.  I knew it was a Sleeping Beauty movie, but I would've never watched it had no one taken me to see it.  My brother picked that movie to go see and they asked if I wanted to come along.  It was funny, when we got there, the whole theater was packed.  We all ended up sitting in the very front since those seats weren't taken yet.  My mom and sister sat in the second to the front row.  I didn't want to scoot past them so I moved up to the front row.  I sat down right in the center of the screen.  It was pretty nice.  Then, I looked to my left and there was nobody...then I looked to my right and there was nobody.  So then I turned around and looked at my mom and sis, then I said, "Oh man, I hope no one hears about this one.  I'm in a theater getting ready to watch Sleeping Beauty and I'm sittin in the front row by myself!"  They cracked up laughing so bad LOL.  It was funny.  Soon, my dad and brother came in and they sat a seat down from me, then another family came in and they sat on the right of me.  I enjoyed it though, it was a really good movie and Angelina Jolie was so Beautiful!  That woman has a face that's just....well Amazing!  I love her.

Anyway, to business!  This morning, I walked 2 1/2 miles.  I said that I would do 5 miles everyday this week and so far I'm doin good.  I did another 2 1/2 this evening.  It was good.  5 miles total.  The walks sure are getting tiring because everyday I push it.  Drank lots of water today, in fact I drank a ton of it.  I'm so used to water now that I have it every time I get thirsty.  My brother called me late, around 9, not too long after I had gotten back from my second walk.  Yup, I walked late to avoid the heat and it was worth it.  They asked me to come over and have some of his birthday cake....omg nooooo lol.  So yeah, needless to say today was not a good day for meals.  I had to have some cake, but I didn't each much.  It was an ice cream cake.  My parents don't seem to take my ambitions seriously lol.  Oh well, it was only a meal.  I'm really strong-willed when it comes to my diets and exercising though.  I made a decision to do it and I'm not stopping.  Losing 24 pounds really motivates me to not give up!

Ok so all in all, today was a great day!  I'm gonna take Lisa to see, Malificent, on Tuesday!  I'm sure she's goin to like that movie.  I sure wouldn't mind seeing it again.  We'll probably watch it in 3D because I hear it's better in 3D.  Great day and definitely lookin forward to tomorrow ;)

Goodnight and again, Happy Birthday to my brother, Kyle!  Wishing you many more Awesome years and Great memories, kid.

Day Thirty Two

Today's the Day!!! ;}  This morning, I started off early with my 2 1/2 mile walk.  I'd like to point out that I started my Fyrescape Journey on April 29 of this year and it is now May 30th.  My weight was at 360lbs on the 28 of April.  I'm happy to report now that my weight has dropped to 336lbs.  Now how Awesome is that?!!  I dropped twenty four pounds by exercising and eating right.  I knew I could do it and I thank God that he's given me the strength to come this far and I'm nowhere near done.  One cool fun fact is, this evening I pulled out some of my old jackets.  They can fit me so much better than they used to!  One jacket, I could put it on, but I could not close it in front.  There was maybe a 2 inch gap on one coat and about a 3 1/2 inch gap on the other.  Guess what, now they BOTH can close!!  I'm so happy about that.  Finally got some inches down.  It was a good day!

Another great thing about today, I bought Mario Kart 8 this morning!!  Now this is a story for you.  A few days ago, I bought one of those pre-order cards for the game at Walmart.  Here in my town (Farmington) we have two Walmarts.  One on the west side of town, the other on the far east side.  I used to work on the east side store back in 2006.  I rarely shop there now though, only because I live over on the west side of town.  So anyway, that store is closer to me.  I go there this morning with Lisa, totally excited to get my game.  I present my pre-order card to the girl working in the electronics dept.  She stares at me blankly and asks...."uh, what are you gonna do with this?"  I'm like, WTH you have no idea what that is!  I told her I was picking up my game.  I didn't see any Mario Kart games in the game case so I figured they had them in the back and have not yet put them out on the shelves yet.  Guess what she does...she goes over to the game case which I just came from and stands there for a few minutes looking for the game....omgosh.  Then she comes over to me and says it's not there, so she asks the other girl who's working there and all that girl says to her is "oh I don't think we got them in yet, probably wait a couple days and we should have them" so that's what that idiot told me!  Yeah, I was pissed.  I told her, it says May 30th on the card, and I pointed it out.  She said, yeah I know it says that but I don't think we got them in yet.  So I asked her, Ok..so what do I do then?  She says blankly again, Uh...probably just wait a few days then check back we might have it.  I stared at her, then said coldly, So did I buy this pre-order card for Nothing?  She just stares at me and says, blankly again, uh..no just use it when you come back I guess.  WTF!!!!!  Now that's Walmart customer service for you!  Those damn idiot girls in the electronics department don't know a damn thing!  They didn't even bother going into the back to see if the games came in.  They just gave me the "uh...I don't think" speech.  I was so disgusted.  I almost just thru that damn pre-order card in the trash.  I mean, seriously, if that damn store is going to be selling those pre-order cards then they better damn well make sure they have that particular product on the shelves the day it's released, otherwise stop selling them!  Totally pathedic!!!  I was pretty mad.  So, Lisa and I went to the OTHER Walmart store on the east side of town.  I figure I'd check there before throwing that card away.  Soon as we got there, I headed back to the electronics dept.  I get to the games case and the girl working there has a huge box of Mario Kart 8 games that she's stocking in the game case!  I'm like, Woohoo, give me one of those.  She was so helpful, she even let me use my pre-order card to buy the game.  She was very nice, very helpful.  I was so satisfied with their customer service.  I swear, the west side Walmart needs to fire all those BS employees who don't know sh*t and give their customers the "uh...I don't know" speeches.  Pissed me off!  Anyway, I got my game.  After that, Lees and I went to Arby's and got some Turkey sandwiches, then headed home to race before she had to go to work.

Just after eating, I had a surprise visit from my little sister.  She was telling me about her court date scheduled for next week.  Towards the end of last year, this crazy girl that she knew, went over to my mom and dad's property, walked into their house, locked my sister out of the house and of course, my younger brother didn't do anything, just let her in, then that girl ended up assaulting my sister outside when she finally went out.  She attacked my sister and did some damage to her car, then she bailed.  My sister tried getting the Navajo Police to help her but of course, they are the worst police force in the world.  Slow and inefficient.  Anyway, my sister wants to file assault charges on that girl and damage to property.  Well the damn courts finally got back to her a few days ago and they scheduled a court date for next week.  Now my sister has to go there, along with my brother, since he was a witness to the whole thing.  Yeah, sad as it is, my brother didn't do anything, just watched that girl beat up his sister.  That made me mad!  I would've went over there and dragged that girl by her hair off my mom and dad's property, then tied her ass up and wait for the cops to come haul her drunk ass to jail, but I was working that day when it happened.  I didn't hear about it until after I had got to work.  Made me so mad!  But, she got thru it all and now has to deal with it.  That's the news there.

This evening, I challenged myself with my walk.  I did my 2 1/2 miles to finish up my 5 miles for the day.  This time, I walked pretty late.  I headed out about 8pm.  The sun was going down and I wanted to be back home before it got dark.  It's a long walk so I really needed to step it up.  Cody and I headed out and I really stepped it up.  I was walking hard and fast.  Wouldn't you know it, I got home before it got dark.  I was back by 9:14pm.  The sky was a shady blue color.  Sun went down, but you could still see.  I was so proud of myself.  I really hit it hard tonight!  I'm gonna try to walk that fast in the morning.  Reminds me again of my running days all those years ago.  I used to run at night and I would run for miles.  During the day, I couldn't do crap lol.  Just didn't have it during the day, but at night, I could run forever it seemed.  Werewolf-Style ;}  Nothing has changed it seems.  The sun was down and I had tons of energy.  I was walking tough, so I'm gonna try that tomorrow morning and see how it does me.
So that was my day!  Lisa is getting off soon.  We'll probably play more Mario Kart when she gets home.  We played some earlier and oh man, it is so fun!  The kart racing is so intense.  Similar to Mario Kart wii, but the tracks are more advanced and you can race on walls, glide thru the air and race underwater.  It's really crazy!  We had lots of fun playing.  Well, I'm going to log off now.  It's been a great day and a good mark in my Journey.  I'm planning on continuing my exercising for many more months and years to come.  Thankx for reading!

Goodnight!

Day Thirty One

Started my day with my 2 1/2 mile walk again.  I woke up early today and got that done.  I figure it's too hot to get out there and walk at 9am so I'm gonna try and get started by 7am or 7:30 at the latest.  Once I'm down in the two hundred pound range (295 etc) I'm gonna start up my running again.  I really wanted to get my weight down before I really hit the running.  Every other day, on my walks home, I try my runs.  I'm getting better and can run a bit further distance.  It reminds me; back when I was a teenager, 18/19, I used to run a couple miles a night, then walk the same distance.  I loved that and when I'm out there running/walking, it really brings back those memories and I can't wait to get back to that.  I'm so thankful to God that He gave me the strength to keep it up and I'm so proud of the weight I've lost to this point.  I'm continuing on everyday, which is what is require in order to really make a difference in yourself.  DO NOT QUIT, I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL SEE RESULTS!!!!
The rest of the day was quite simple.  Just stayed inside since it was pretty hot out.  I really need to get out there and finish the yard.  I got so many weeds to cut yet.  I need to get busy so hopefully this weekend I'll get out there.  This evening around 6pm, I finished out my 5 miles.  It was a good walk and a bit cooler than yesterday given that it was cloudy.  The smell of rain filled the air toward the end of my walk.
I watched IMPACTwrestling tonight after getting cleaned up.  For those that don't know, that's TNA.  I'm a huge pro-wrestling fan.  I hate the wwe though so don't nobody EVER call me a wwe fan.  I used to watch the wwe back when Shawn Michaels performed along with Bret "The Hitman" Hart, and when John Cena first started out before he became corrupt with fame and power.  I was mainly a WCW fan, which was the only reason I started watching wwe in the first place, because they bought WCW (World Championship Wrestling).  That place had wrestling!  I loved it.  The wwe just had a bunch of fame hungry weirdos in the later years after the purchase of WCW.  I hated it so bad.  So, out of the ashes of the old WCW, TNA rose up!  Now they have what WCW once had.  They've struggled a bit, but lately they're definitely turning around.  They have the potential to be a really Amazing wrestling company.  All the need it the right management, the right writers and the right push to really get up there.  The wwe is falling, just look at the news.  Anyway, that's a whole other conversation.  But yes, I'm a big TNA supporter and I hope to see them strive in the coming future.  So tonight was their IMPACT show on SpikeTV, which was Awesome!!  I really enjoyed it, especially their knew Knockout, Rebel.  Oh man, she is sizzling!!!  I love her.
So that was my day!  Looking forward to tomorrow since my reserved game, Mario Kart 8, will be in.  I can't wait!  I've got a great morning planned racing lol.  Thankx for reading today's blog.

Goodnight!

Day Thirty

Today was Awesome!!  Started the day with my 2 1/2 miles, as my everyday thing.  Really worked up a sweat.  Cody has marked every bush on my entire walking road, it's crazy lol.  I might as well name that road, Cody's Trail, or something clever like that lol.   It might as well be his now.  So after the walk, Lees and I set up the chairs outside under the canopy which we had set up yesterday before I cooked the steaks.  I went ahead and left it up that night.  So we sat under there, just relaxing and taking in the cool shady breeze.  Lisa cut us up some watermelon and she pulled out the animal brush and brushed Cody's coat.  Dang, that dog is really shedding.  He looked awful because he had clumps of fur getting ready to fall off.  She brushed that all out.  There was so much and now I got all these brownish/black furballs in my front yard hahaha.  I needa clean that up!  He looks good now, back to my handsome German Shepherd.  He loves that!  I let my cat, Sebastian, outside too.  It's funny, my cat is really tough and Huge also.  He's a big Tom Cat.  Cody is scared of him because Sebastian will walk up to him and swipe right at his nose, hissing at him just for the heck of it.  Cody doesn't like that so when he sees Sebastian walking toward him, he gets really nervous and walks away from him LOL.  It's really funny!  Crazy cat, I have to keep him inline.
After, we got ready and headed into town.  I wanted to stop by Home Depot to look at some garden supplies and grilling gadgets I could use.  Since yesterday I'm really getting into that.  We were there at the store for a good hour, just lookin around.  After, I treated Lees out to Red Lobster.  No no, we didn't get some crazy fatty foods.  I got fish and vegetables.  Omg I can't get enough of that.  I had grilled fish, broccoli and grean beans.  That and water with lemon.  Soo good.  Lisa had shrimp pasta with rice.  We both had salad.  Very good lunch!  Oh man it was so tempting though because you could smell the lobster, crab legs, breaded fish and fries...mmmmm.  I miss that!  I can't wait to drop down to 240, then I'll have more of that.  Until then, it's strictly healthy foods.
After the restaurant, we headed home.  Watched a movie at home and just hung around.  We walked early this evening, around 4:30.  I had planned on grilling fish outside so I wanted to get my walk done and over with before the mosquitos came out.  Finished up with my daily 5 miles around 5:45pm.  It was pretty hot out still and I really overheated because I was walking hard so soon as I got home, I jumped in the cold shower again.  Totally refreshing!
I cooked fish on my grill tonight!  No mosquitos out woohoo!!!  I guess because it was cloudy and breezy.  But yup, I grilled fish.  They came out sooo good.  Damn, I'm getting good at that LOL.  I dropped a piece on the ground and Jayde sniffed it, then she chomped it down.  She loved it.  She was standing by the grill just waiting so I gave her another big piece and she ate it up.  She really liked my fish.  Since I had seven, two of them huge ones I caught, I cooked on whole fish for Cody.  I made it really tasty, then let it cool down.  After, I took it over to him.  He sniffed it once, then bit into it.  He ate the whole thing right up.  He loved it!  I was so proud.  Lisa loved them too.  She said they were really good.  We had them with beans and the rest of the potato salad we'd gotten yesterday.  That and water.  It was a very good dinner.  We watched some movies I had rented after, one of them being that movie '12 Years a Slave'.  Oh man, that was an intense movie!  I can't believe people were treated that way back then.  I mean, we're all human beings.  Everyone has a different skin color, but we're all the same.  How could someone treat a person with black skin any different than someone with red skin?!!  It makes me sick thinking about it.  I'm a Native American and my skin is brown, but my blood is red and I breathe oxygen, the same as people with white skin and black skin.  No difference!  Why the hell did ppl treat colored people that way!  So crazy.  Me, I respect all ppl and animals.  I never hurt or harm animals and I show respect to All people, unless they themselves have no respect for others, then I don't give them any.  I wouldn't treat anyone any different.  Even a famous person, I would treat them the same way I would a stranger I met in town.  Just because someone has a lot more money in the bank than another person, doesn't make them any better than them.  We are all the same and under God.  That is how I see it and live my life.
Anyway, just saying!  But today was a great day.  I'm lookin forward to the weekend.

Goodnight!

Day Twenty Nine

Started off the day with my normal 2 1/2 mile walk.  My walks sure are getting faster.  Before I was luggin it pretty slow, now I'm picking up speed.  Lisa ran today, as she usually does.  She really needs to pick up her exercising more because she works in the evening so she don't have time to do the second exercise like I do.
Anyway, after coming back, we gathered all the trash around the house, picking up everything.  I loaded up my truck bed with trash from around the yard and the trash cans outside.  I had so much and oh man did it stink.  This hot weather, you can't leave trash outside for too long lol.  We loaded it all up and then swooped up Jayde, then we cruised to the dump.  Every time we bring one of the dogs, the workers there at the Waste Management facility always give those dog biscuits to us.  They gave Jayde one, but she didn't like it.  She's really picky about what she eats.  Damn spoiled dog!  After the dump (felt so good to get rid of all that trash), we came into town and I went right to Captain D's and bought us some Iced Tea's.  I felt I deserved it.  Oh my goodness, I hadn't had an iced tea in a month.  As you now know, that was my favorite drink.  It was sooooo good I can't begin to describe it!  I enjoyed it.  After that we came home, got ready then headed back up town.  I wanted to try out my grill so I bought us two ribeye steaks at Walmart, some vegetables and potato salad.  I usually don't eat potatoes, but this time it called for it.  I grilled those steaks on my grill that evening.  They came out Amazing!  I'm actually pretty good at cooking out there.  I made them well-done too.  I wanted mine Medium, but since I'm on this whole health track, I made them fully cooked.  They still tasted great, as well as the vegetables.  During dinner, we watched the new Robocop movie.  I had bought it on Ultraviolet early so we watched it on Lisa's laptop.  I wish I could get it played on my tv, but you need internet connection to watch your Ultraviolet's on your tv, which sux.
That was a good movie.  After dinner, Lisa went to meet her pal at Berg Park and did some walking.  I waited until the movie was over (letting my stomach settle) then I changed and me and Cody went out to finish up my 5 miles for the day!  It was a good walk but oh man was it hot!  I came back roasting, so I hoped in a cold shower and cleaned off.  I walked pretty hard too so I'm already startin to burn off those calories.  It was a great day!  Very much lookin forward to tomorrow ;}

Goodnight!

Day Twenty Eight - REST DAY

Yay!  Rest Day!!!  Also, Happy Memorial Day!!  Let's honor all those who have fallen in service of our Great Country and to the loved ones we've lost over the years who will always remain in our hearts throughout our lives!
Though it was a holiday, I sure didn't do anything.  No plans with the family, just a ME day pretty much.  Even Lisa did something with her family.  They had a dinner at her aunts place, so she bailed out pretty early.  Anyway, I can't tell you how good it felt to just go easy today.  Doin 5 miles everyday, I tell ya that really does take it's toll on you after a while.
I'd like to point out that even though I do try to have a rest day every week, that day doesn't mean I go on binges and eat anything I want.  No, I may be recharging my body, but I'm still eating right and light.  I haven't had a soda in a month.  I haven't had any sweets or chocolate in over a month.  I've been drinking only water and the occasional juice, mainly the V8 blend juices that have lots of Vitamins, the diet ones, not the regular as I think it's too sweet.  Also, Grapefruit juice is the other one!  Those are the only juices I drink.  If they're too sweet, I'll put in just a bit of juice and the rest water.  That helps bland it out a bit.
So today was pretty minor.  I didn't do much except clean up around the place.  I've got so many ant hole popping up near Cody's area, I need to cruise to town tomorrow and get some.  It's been raining a lot the past couple days so on a calm sunny day, I'll put it on them.  One thing I did, that I'm ultra proud of, was this evening, I got my grill working!!!!!!  Woohoo!!  This morning, my Grandma and Grandpa stopped by and gave me one of Grandpa's old propane bottles, a small one.  Now I have one that'll fit underneath my grill.  I was so happy about that.  I was goin to buy one, but those damn things are $30 bucks.  That doesn't seem like much, but it is especially when you have other stuff you need to get.  That thirty dollar chunk outta your wallet sure adds up after a while, so needless to say I hadn't gotten one yet, but now I have one!!  It was funny, I told Grandpa that this was my Rest Day and he tells me to NOT do that LOL.  He said that's how you get lazy!  He doesn't realize I've been doin this since I started.  It's good to take Rest Days, especially when you are just starting off.  You really don't want to overwork your body.  That's how you blow out your knees and wear out your legs, causing nightly pain.  When your weight is where Mine was, you definitely need a rest day.  It sure doesn't get me lazy though, especially with this much weight loss that I've had.  It just motivates me to get back out there.  I'll be honest, all day today I was wanting to get out there and do another 5 miles, but I really had to restrain.  Why you ask, well because my feet were feeling pretty worn out.  They needed atleast one day to really heal up so tomorrow I'll get back out there because this upcoming week, I'm planning to to 5 miles everyday....again lol.
So back to my story, tonight I got my grill working.  I went out there, put it all back together using bolts and wire.  I had to use wire because some of the bolts I had didn't quite fit.  Now, it's solid.  I got my (new) propane bottle and hooked it up.  Turned it on.....nothing!  I thought, dammit it must be my regulator.  So, I unscrewed the bottle and cleaned out everything.  Note:  When I screwed on the propane bottle, it turned only about a turn and a half before it was tight.
So after I sat down on the ground, made sure the regulator was lined up correctly with my propane bottle, then pressed it on.  I noticed it clicked on there, then I screwed it on.  This time, it turned about 7 times until it got tight.  Right away, I'm like, hey that was more than before!  So I jumped up, ran around to the front and turned the knobs to on and *ssssssssss* (the propane started up and came on).  I was so happy!  I cleaned up the grill quickly, then grabbed my lighter and fired it up.  It was on hot, all both burners and the side burner were working great.  I got it running.  Now I can finally cook those fish I have in the freezer.  I've been wanting to grill outside and now I can.  I showed Lisa when she got home and she's really excited.  She's off tomorrow and the next day so we're planning on getting some good food cooked outside ;}
Great day today!  I enjoyed it.  Goodnight!

Day Twenty Seven

2 1/2 miles started off my day!  Boy it was nice and cool out this morning.  It rained last night and rained a bit on the way back.  I love days like today!  I was really feeling it though, I'm worn out.  Tomorrow is Rest Day, yay!!!!   Can't wait for that.  This evening I did another 2 1/2 miles, so 5 miles total again today.  I've been doing 5 miles for the last few days.  It's Awesome!!  I'm getting so used to exercising now, it's not even a question.  Once the time hits, I put on my gear and head out.  It really does work, motivation!  You just need to make the decision to do it, trust me.  That's all you need is the motivation and determination to do it and you can do it!  It don't take fancy equipment or some crazy advertised super pill, it just takes a little "get off your ass and do it" attitude.  Definitely working for me!
Today was church and our old friends, the Forman's were back.  When our church was almost taken over by this crazy pastor bridge, Jim Forman was one of our supporters and kept trying to get my mom to fight for the church.  So he came down to baptize anyone who wanted to and get their names in record because that's one thing that that idiot Bridge was using against us when he almost took our church away.  That's another story though and I won't get into that.
So they came down and did service.  I used to know them really well but you know, a long time ago Jim Forman and I did not get along.  He hated me for whatever reason and chased me out of the church one time.  I got back at him, yelling at him while he was doing his sermon.  It was bad, but I don't let anyone treat me that way.  We did get over it though and settled things eventually.  Not too long after that whole thing happened, like maybe a year or so, he ended up leaving our church.  He took his whole family with him and being away from them with no contact for more than 10 years, they pretty much turned into strangers to me.  We don't know each other and when we talk, it's very awkward.  I hate to say that, but it is.  My mom is very close with all of them, needless to say she's much closer to them than anyone else.  So for me, service yesterday wasn't all that good.  I wish I knew them better.  Maybe in time, things will change.  Of course I was also a bit embarrassed because the last time I saw them, I was probably about 180 pounds LOL.  Now, well you all know how much I weigh haha.  Crazy!  I'm sure I looked way different so if they come back next year or in a few months, whichever (oh they're from Talequah, Oklahoma btw) I'll look more familiar ;)
So that was my day!  Pretty good.  Did some thinking and I'm really looking forward to my future!  Did my daily 5 miles of walking today so that really made me feel great.
Goodnight!

Day Twenty Six

This morning, did my 2 1/2 miles start.  It was a great day!  I'm walking faster and really working up a sweat.  Once we got back, I called my Grandpa to ask him about some ant powder.  I've got a bunch of ant holes that popped up around Cody's area.  So, I had to move him.  I talked with him and Grandma on the phone.  I told them how much weight I've dropped.  They were very happy.  My grandpa said he was very proud of me and to keep it up.  He told me that before he was kinda worried about me, but that he doesn't talk about ppl's body or their faults, so he never said anything.  I wish he had, honestly.  I'd rather hear blunt truth, as opposed to not saying anything at all.  That was honestly how I racked up all that weight, because no one ever told me and I was too scared to actually see it so it was like I was a ghost walking around for years, not even knowing the state I was in.  Crazy!
Anyway, grandpa told me which one to get and he told me that since his left knee surgery, he's been home doin great and healing up.  It's great because both his knees are now fixed and he's really happy about that.  They no longer cause him pain and he can't wait to get up and around once again.  He talked to me about summer fishing so we may be planning a trip sometime next month.  I hope my dad can come.  He's still kinda slow moving around.  Healing up from his heart surgery is taking some time.
Grandpa told me he was trying to build up his arms but had no weights to really do that, so after I got off the phone, Lisa and I headed up to Walmart and I bought some ant dust, then we headed to the exercise equipment and I bought grandpa a 20 pound dumbbell.  That'll help build up his arms.  I took that down to him after.  He was happy.  He said it looked a bit to big for him, but that's what he needs.  Anyway after we went to Arby's again and I bought us some turkey sandwiches.  Lisa loved hers.  Again, I took the bread off and just ate the meat and veggies.  I also had water.  I'm getting so used to water now, it's amazing!  I drink it everyday and even when we get food in town, it's always water.  I love that about myself.  Before I never drank water, now it's pretty much my main drink.
One of the cool things about yesterday which I think I forgot to mention, was that I paid off my phone bill, Woohoo!!!  I had been so behind on my home phone.  It racked up to over $200.  Finally I got it all paid in full.  I was very happy about that.  A huge load off my back!  Another thing I did this evening was a cut lots of weeds in my yard.  We have a fox coming around at night.  I've chased it away several nights.  He comes around and eats Cody's food and Cody...yeah he don't do anything.  Either they're buddies, or Cody just doesn't bother anymore because apparently this fox may have been coming around for a long time.  Anyway while I was cutting weeds, I found this little bed LOL.  Meaning a bed in the weeds where a small animal has lay down.  I'm guessing it was the fox.  He just sits there and watches until I'm back inside, then comes out and has a feast.  So I got rid of it, now that crazy fox won't have a hiding spot.  I don't really mind him, just so long as it leaves my cats alone, which so far it seems to have done just that.  I swear though, that thing ever hurts my cats, especially the new kitties, I'm loading up my rifle and going fox hunting!  Hopefully it never comes to that though.
So, at the end of the day, I did another 2 1/2 miles.  5 total today!  I'm feeling great and lighter on my feet.  I notice my walks are more faster now, as opposed to when I first started.  Like I mentioned earlier, I'm really building up a sweat walking.  Cody sure is getting exercise too, though all he does is goof off when we walk.  A fun fact about my dog, Cody, he is a 103 pound German Shepherd.  I know right, WHOA!!!  When we took him to the vet, that's how much he weighed in...or did I mention that in my other blogs...hmmm I have no idea LOL.  Oh well, if I didn't, now you know.  So I have a huge dog and I love him bunches.  He's more used to Lisa though, only because she's really soft with him.  I'm strict and I get after him when he's naughty.  Basically like kids, they are more close to the moms since the moms are not as strict as the dads.  They respect dad and fear him when they get out of line, but love him just as much, they just feel more safer with mom lol.  Anyway you get the idea.  That's how Cody is.  Crazy dog!  Anyway, today was a great day!  Lookin forward to tomorrow.
Goodnight!

Day Twenty Five

My feet were feeling it today!  I've been walking like crazy the last few days.  Anyway, this morning I started off with my regular 2 1/2 miles.  It was nice too!  It rained last night so the air smelled very refreshing and there was a slight breeze so it was nice and cool out.  Not hot like usual.  After we got back, Lisa got ready.  Then, I used a movie ticket I printed out from buying the dvd 'The Wolverine' and we went to see 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.  Dang that was a very Awesome movie!!  I was very satisfied.  The theater was pretty full so we sat in the second to the front row, but it wasn't bad!  It was like sitting in the living room with an extra huge tv!!  I really loved that movie.  Wouldn't mind seeing it again.  If you haven't seen it, go see it this holiday weekend, but be sure to buy your tickets early!  After the movie, we payed some bills, then got some lunch at Arby's.  I got me a turkey sandwich and it came with seasoned curly fries, the Arby's special fries.  I didn't want to eat them, but I did.  One time, won't hurt.  I've gotta say, it was Amazing!!  Reminded me of hamburgers and French fries.  It seems so long since I've had one of those.  Anyway, I enjoyed lunch.  What I did this time though was I took the bread off my sandwich and only ate the meat, lettuce and tomatoes.  I'm trying to cut as much bread out of my diet as possible.  That does help, trust me!  So I had turkey, lettuce tomatoes and seasoned curly fries for lunch, along with water!  Very good lunch.
We came home and Lees went right to work.  I waited a bit, then changed my clothes since it was nice and cloudy outside, and did another 2 1/2 miles.  It was a really nice walk.  Cody really enjoyed himself.  Nice and cool.  The sky was dark blue, my Ocean in the Sky, as I call it.  I love that kind of sky, especially when I used to see it at the ocean in San Diego.  That was Amazing!  Can't wait to go back there sometime.
So, another great day!  Lookin forward to tomorrow.  I also opened my facebook page back up, not my Fyrescape one, but my original one I shut down on the 28th of April after I found out the bad news on my health.  See I thought I wanted to just disappear while I worked on my health.  I found that alienating all my friends wasn't really cool.  I don't know, since I was a kid, I've always been fascinated with that whole, man disappears for years whereabouts unknown then returns one day unexpected and a better man, thing.  It's stupid!  Anyone seen that movie 'Eddie and the Cruisers'?  Well that same concept that Eddie Wilson goes thru.  I thought it'd be neat to do that so over the years I would just out of the blue, vanish.  Anyway, I realized tonight how idiotic that is.  I once almost did that with my girlfriend many years ago.  She and I were engaged at the time.  That relationship ended, though that wasn't the reason.  I just don't want to be that idiot anymore.  I don't want to alienate my friends.  Yes, now I'm on my Fyrescape Journey, but I want my friends to come along with me!  They'll be there when I'm done so why not bring them along for the ride.  Right?!
Anyway, that's what I did so now my original facebook page is open!  Anyone wanna get to know me, just ask and come on over to my FB page!  I love meeting and making new pals.
Ok, great day today!  My feet sure hurt though.  Did too much walking, oh and I also checked my weight tonight and I just wanna share that I weight in at 338.6 lbs.  Woohooo!!!!
Goodnight ;)

Day Twenty Four

2 1/2 miles started off my day!  It was a good walk.  I wanna try running again soon.  I know I keep saying that, but I've gotta start off slow.
When we got back, Lees and I headed up town to ACE Hardware.  I bought some stuff for my grill.  I also talked to the dudes there and got a few pointers on how to possibly start up my grill.  I've got a problem with the propane regulator.  It's not shooting out the gas, but I'm goin to try some other stuff and we shall see what happens.  After ACE, we stopped by the church and helped my grandma out with some cleaning.  She's really tryna get that place cleaned up by this weekend.  It paid off too because she took us to Denny's afterwards.  Oh man how I wanted to order a big juicy hamburger with seasoned fries and a tall glass of sweet iced tea.....but nope I didn't lol.  Instead I ordered a health chicken sandwich and a bowl of fruit with a tall glass of water!  See, aren't I commited lol.  But yeah it was sooo good.  That sandwich was excellent!  The fruit really hit the spot.  I must say, that was a very yummy healthy lunch.  I was surprised at how much I loved it.  So note to all, Denny's has some good health choices.  Try it out!
Another 2 1/2 mile walk this evening.  Again 5 miles total today, woohoo!!! Started lifting weights again.  A slow process but I'm goin to pick it up in the days to come.  Another Awesome day!
Goodnight ;)

Day Twenty Three - REST DAY

Ok say it with me.....Aaaaaaaahhhhh, rest day ;)

Yup, today was a rest day for me.  I really needed it.  Yesterday when I went walking I could just feel the tiredness in my legs once I started off.  But, I didn't want to take a rest day only because like I mentioned the other day, I had taken a day off from walking last week because of my knee.  Anyway, looks like I needed it after all.

So today was rather busy for me!  Lisa did her run this morning.  I spent it outside looking after my cat Sebastian while he ran around (which didn't last long because he got into trouble right away) and I also cut lots of weeds in my front yard.  I mentioned that I wanted to clear my yard of weeds and I'm on that mission now.  I cut lots of'em and now my entire front yard is done.  When Lisa came back, we had a small breakfast of boiled eggs and corned beef hash.  Lots of water!  After, we headed up town to Salmons and I bought some stuff to get my Air Conditioner running.  I had me a cheat treat today!  Before going to Salmons (which is a home hardware and appliance store) we stopped by our church and helped my grandma out with some cleaning.  After that, Salmons, then I was craving something sweet.  I had one of those low energy days and I really really wanted something sweet.  So, as a treat, Lees and I went to Dairy Queen and I got a Cherry Dipped ice cream cone.  Omgosh it was so good!  I hadn't had ice cream in so long.  I felt bad after eating it, but I'm not going to torcher myself.  I'll just do a good 5 miles tomorrow and some yoga if I can sneak that in there.  Anyway, after that we went home and right away I pulled out my tools and started working on my A/C.  It's pretty hot out there.  Oh yeah, one crazy thing that happened when we got home.  I was over looking at the kitties and one of them was really scratching her ear.  She was meowing constantly and her ear looked like it was really bothering her.  I picked her up and looked, but I didn't see anything.  I got Lisa and told her to check it out while I finished gathering my tools.  After, she came back and told me to help her because the kitten had one of those foxtail weeds deep in her ear and she needed to use a tweezers to get it out.  So, I held the kitten and Lisa gently reached down and pulled the weed out.  Oh Man, that thing was about an inch long, deep inside her ear.  I couldn't believe it!  So, I had Lisa cut down all those foxtail weeds down by the shed where the kittens are.  That was intense!
Anyway, I got up on the roof and cleaned out the A/C, changed my hose, put some new fixtures on there and got my A/C up and running for the summer.  It's running great!  I had to put some effort though and must've climbed up and down that ladder 5 times.  After I got it running, Lisa pulled some weeds behind the place.  I swear those weeds are popping up all over.  I put everything away, then I cleaned out my propane grill.  I gotta get some parts for it tomorrow and try and get it goin so we can cook some fish outside.  So, once I got all that done, I did some inside work and put on a new toilet seat in the back bathroom because Sebastian tore the other one up to pieces.  Now, it looks good.  The rest of the evening was spent watchin a movie and eating some salad and soup.  It was a very busy but fulfilling day!  Lookin forward to tomorrow.  Back to exercising ;)

Goodnight!

Day Twenty Two

So, before I get into what I did today, let me just inform about my Hernia appointment I had with the surgeon today.  Well, it's a funny story.  Lisa took me to the hospital.  I was in the waiting room and I got called in right away to get my vitals checked.  They checked my weight, and I was down over 15 pounds Woohoo!!! More great news, my blood pressure came down.  It was in the 140's before, now it's in the 130's!!!  How cool is that!!!  The nurse said it was pretty good.  She said it could be lower, but that it's ok.  The more weight I drop, the more it should come down so I'm very happy about that.  So after she checked all that, she sent me out to the waiting room because there were no rooms available for me to wait in just yet.  Anyway, I had to set a while.  About 30 minutes later, that same nurse came out and gave me a paper stating that I had surgery this Friday 5/23 at 9:15am.  It said I needed to go downstairs to the day surgery and sign up, then go to get an EKG.  I was freaking out!  I'm like, Damn I haven't even seen a doctor yet, this must be a serious hernia!!  Oh man, so I go to the counter and ask them if I'm supposed to just go get all that stuff done.  The girl behind the counter didn't know so she asked for me.  A few minutes later, another nurse came out and asked me if my name was Charles.  I said no, then told her My name.  She came over and looked at my paper.  She said, "have you even seen the doctor yet?"  I'm like, No.  Then she said, "Well how the heck did you get this paper!!" LOL they screwed up.  Apparently that paper was meant for some other dude who was getting a hernia surgery.  I guess they thought it was me.  I was super relieved.  That was a funny situation.  Lisa was over there laughing at me!!  Anyway, about 10 minutes later I finally got called in to see the doctor.  It was really quick.  I get in there, after a minute or so, the doc comes in.  He gets into his computer to check my records, then he says Ok, let me have a look at this hernia.  He asked me to pull up my shirt.  I did.  He looked at my stomach for a while confused.  He thought it would be sticking out, which is what I guess hernia's do.  I told him that you can't see it, you can only feel it just inside my belly button.  So he felt for it, then told me to cough.  After, he told me to lie on the table so I did and he checked again, told me to cough.  He felt it then and before, after he had this kinda grin on his face.  He said, well "I don't think you have a hernia."  I'm like, What?!  He said that what it seems to be was something to do with the umbilical cord closing up after your born and that it sometimes opens....or something like that.  He said that's all it was.  He said it's nothing that requires surgery and that it's not cancer or anything bad!  I was SOOOO RELIEVED!!!!!!!!!  He said for now just leave it alone and that if it ever does get any bigger or starts to hurt, just come on back and they can fix it right up easily.  Then he sent me home!!!  Now how Awesome is that!!!  This whole time I was worried for nothing.  I guess that was just God's way of getting me to the hospital to get notice on my health, which was the real issue.  I needed to drop weight bad to avoid any serious health problems, a task I've started on April 29 til today, as recorded in this blog.  So yeah, that was Awesome news!!!
After the hospital, I called my mom and told her.  She was happy that it was nothing bad.  Lisa and I then headed to Walmart here in town.  I bought some stuff for my A/C which I'm gonna hook up tomorrow.  I also bought a new weigh scale just so I'll have two of them and get more accurate readings when I monitor my weight.  I got some movies and bought Lisa some stuff.  After, we went and got a light lunch, then headed home.  About 6:30pm, we headed out and did another 2 1/2 miles.  I forgot to mention, this morning before goin to the hospital, I did 2 1/2 miles.  So, again total 5 miles today.  Feeling pretty good, but I've got a bruise on my heel.  Lisa looked at it for me because I thought I had a sticker in there, but it looks like a bruise.  Kinda hurts when I was walking this evening.  After we got back home, my right knee was hurtin again.  I think I've been at it too long.  I'm thinking of taking a rest day tomorrow.  I need to give my knee a day to rest, as well as giving my heel a day to heal up.  So, I think that's the plan tomorrow.
A light dinner of salad, eggs and some corned beef hash tonight.  Very good!  I'm getting so used to water that it's starting to taste as good as my old favorite drink, Iced Tea.  Just plain water too.  No flavors or sweeteners added to it.  Just plain old fashioned, God given, water!  Another really Great day with some really Excellent news!!!!  Lookin forward to resting tomorrow.

Goodnight ;}

Day Twenty One

Today was one busy day for me!  First off, my friend Lisa, she's been dealing with family drama.  She had to work a double last night so I was pretty much flying solo today.  I walked 2 1/2 miles this morning.  Lisa called me after and said she was home, but heading over to her aunt's place.
After my walk, I came home, loaded up my fishing gear and headed out to the lake.  It was fun!  Very nice day.  I picked me out a good spot and tossed in a few.  I got several bites but I couldn't catch'em.  They totally evaded me lol.  I left the lake close to noon.  Called up Lisa, who was just heading home and asked her to meet me for lunch.  We ate at Captain D's!!!  No no, I didn't have any greasy breaded fish.  I had a baked chicken platter with vegetables and a water.  I should've got the baked Fish, which is what Lisa got.  That looked so good.  But, I'm happy because I still ate pretty healthy.  Great lunch.  She told me all about the crazy stuff goin on within her family.  Can't believe how bad her mom is....oh man!  Anyway, after that she went home and went to sleep since she'd been up over 24 hours.  Me, I watched a movie at home, then around 5:30pm, I headed out and did another 2 1/2 miles.  5 miles total again today, Woohoo!!!  Cody is sure getting his exercise as well.
When I came home, I changed and did some work outside.  I'm cleaning my yard, cutting all the weeds and tryna make it look Awesome out there.  I did quite a bit, got my front yard clear.  Now I have the rest of my acre of land to worry about and believe me, it's a jungle out there!!  Well, tomorrow is my appointment for my hernia.  I sure hope that goes well.
Salad and eggs for dinner, yummy!!  Oh and I had to choke down some grapefruit juice lol.  That stuff is nasty!!!  But, I hear it's good for you, especially during weight loss.  Ok, time to head off to dreamland.  Great day today!!!

Goodnight ;}

Day Twenty

So I have some HUGE news!!! I weighed myself last night finally. Remember when I started, I weighed 360lbs even. I am so happy to report that I now weigh 344.2 lbs. Wooohooo!!!!! These daily walks and changed diet has really paid off. I'm very happy knowing that I'm getting somewhere! I checked it last night after I wrote my blog. Great news, dontcha think? ;)

So today I walked 5 miles.  2 1/2 this morning and 2 1/2 this evening!  My meals today consisted of salad with a small serving of meat, and beans.  This evening I ate a bowl of soup.  I also drank a lot of water today.  That's one thing I've been doing, daily.  Lots of water!  Tomorrow was supposed to be my rest day, but I don't think I'm going to have one this week.  I took a day this past week because my knee was hurting.  I think I'll keep up my walks.  Still trying to work up to running.  Once I can get running, I know I'll be on a downhill thing from there ;)

So daily tip, drink lots of water.  Many fitness fanatics say that and I'm hear to tell you that they really do know their stuff!  Drink lots of water, not only does it help with weight loss, but it really does cleanse your body and revitalize it.  I feel great!  Lookin forward to tomorrow, then finally on Tuesday I have my appointment for my hernia.  I sure hope that goes well.  I don't really want surgery, but we'll see what the docs say about that.  Another great day!  Oh yeah, on a personal note, my cat, Roar, had her kittens some weeks back and today they made their debut.  They both came out.  They are now walking around.  They're both friendly and curious.  So happy to have new additions to my family.  My other cat, Sebastian is a daddy now lol.  Gotta keep him under control because when he sees, Roar, he goes crazy!  Damn cat.

Goodnight ;}

Day Nineteen

First thing things morning, did my 2 1/2 mile walk.  My knee is feeling way better today...the thing that IS wrong with me though is my stomach is not feeling too good.  Hasn't really been feeling good since last night.  I don't know what the deal is.  Either I ate something that was not good, or else it's my hernia.  My appointment for my hernia is Tuesday, May 20th and 1:45pm.  Sux, I really wish I didn't have this damn thing.  I want to get back to situps, crunches, doin All positions of DDPyoga, but this hernia is really putting a pause on it.  I don't want it to get worse so I'm mainly just sticking to eating better and my walks.  I did not do another 2 1/2 miles this evening. My stomach isn't feeling too hot.  The way it feels is like when you've eaten something really greasy and that queezy feeling you get after.  Kinda like that, but not to where I want to throw up.  My stomach just feels like it's been thru hell and I'm feeling the after effects.  Somethin like that.  Oh well, I'll see how it is tomorrow.
As for food, Lisa and I did laundry today.  That was not too fun.  I hate doing laundry.  Anyway, after we stopped by Best Buy and I bought this really cool gadget that links my phone or laptop to my tv and I can watch my shows on there.  Pretty cool.  After that, we cruised on over to Subway for a sandwich.  I had baked chips with mine.  It was good, I haven't had chips in a while.
Oh man, it sure wasn't easy tonight.  My mom bought me some BBQ that a pastor was selling.  I mean, I love that she got that for me, but oh man it's temptation!!  She knows I can't eat stuff like that lol.  I just had a couple bits of the potato salad and a couple bites of the BBQ.  I cannot eat that.  I put the rest of it in the fridge.  I'm proud of myself.  I'm hungry and I want to eat it all, but No Way, I'll pass for some vegetables and/or salad.  That'll be good for me ;)

Got news that my Grandpa's knee surgery for his other side went really good.  I talked to him today.  He's doin great and hope's to get released from Albuquerque on Monday.  Now both his knees are fixed.  He's just got to spend the next month healing up and doin this therapy like he did when he got his first knee done.  I'm happy for him.  This fall, we'll all be able to go hunting.  Before, grandpa couldn't hardly walk because his knees were rubbing bone on bone.  It was painful to him.  This year however, he finally got knee surgery and now both are fixed.  It's really good news.  I'll probably be having surgery as well, to get my hernia fixed, but we'll see what the docs say on Tuesday.
Great day today!  Lookin forward to tomorrow ;)

Day Eighteen

Well like I mentioned yesterday, my knee was still not feeling too hot today.  It was aching this morning so screw that, I am not walking today.  Instead, we loaded up the laundry and headed to town.  Lisa hauled me around in her car today lol.  While we were picking up a light breakfast, I checked my phone and saw that 'GODZILLA' was showing at 10:35am today.  Oh man, so we blew off the laundry.  We parked at the park and ate breakfast, then immediately after, we headed to the Animas 10 theater at the mall.  We got tickets for the 3D ATMOS theater, which is the new sound theater they have there.  No drinks or snacks, woohoo!!!  We fought the temptation.  We just sat in the theater and enjoyed the movie and what an Awesome movie it was!!!  Definitely gets an A+ in my book.  I really enjoyed it.  Godzilla looked Awesome!  I've been a Godzilla fan since I was a kid.  I used to collect Godzilla movies.  I still have them too, especially those old black and while VHS movies.  Those were great!  This one really lived up to my expectations and was waaay better than that one that came out back in the late 90's with Matthew Brodrick.
Anyway, after the movie we went to Wendy's.  No no hamburgers.  We got chicken salad there.  If you ever want a really good fresh salad, go to Wendy's!  They have Awesome garden salads.  Me and Lisa both got one.  I also got a Pink Lemonade, but ugh it was way too sweet.  I didn't drink it.  When we got home, I poured most of it out and filled it up with water, but it was still too sweet so I just didn't drink it.  Instead I had water.
After we got home, I did about 15 minutes on the exercise bike.  Totally surprised me!  Before I could only do 3 minutes.  I was in total BeastMode today and kept at it!  It helped my knees a bit.  I wanted to walk this evening, but I didn't want to risk straining my knee again so I just called it off and stayed in.  My knee feels better and doesn't hurt anymore so I should be good to pick up my 5 miles again tomorrow.

On a personal note, today I built up my Facebook page!  Just go to www.facebook.com/fyrescape  That is my facebook page where I'll be posting my blogs, and anything else I can.  I'm documenting my journey so I can always look back on this time to help motivate me to always stay healthy and to keep my future loved ones on the right track as far as health goes.  We need our health.  Without it, nothing else matters!  Also, join me on twitter at www.twitter.com/fyrescape

Another great day!  Gonna watch a movie, then head to bed for some sweet dreams.  Very great day today!  And if you haven't already seen it, go watch 'Godzilla'.  You'll enjoy it ;)

Day Seventeen

Today I only did a 2 1/2 mile walk.  Did some of the exercise bike later on in the day but not much else.  My knee is really bothering me today.  I think I may have twisted my knee the other day when I was fishing.  I remember I was squatted down putting some bait back in my grandpa's tackle box and my fishing pole started tugging so I quickly stood up and turned to run toward it.  I think then is when I twisted it.  I have a slight sharp pain in my right knee so I didn't walk tonight.  I atleast did my regular 2 1/2 miles so I'm happy.  I don't know about tomorrow though.  One word of advise to any who are wondering about pushing yourself....
To push yourself is Great, HOWEVER, if you are hurting anywhere, especially in your leg, knees or feet, then DO NOT continue on until your pain stops.  Pain during workouts is good.  Pain a day or so after a good workout, that is something to watch out for.  You don't want to have a pain in your knees, leg or feet then try and just fight thru it during your daily run because if you blow out your knee, you're screwed for the next month(s) so be careful and make good choices.

I already had a rest day but if my knee still feels bad tomorrow, I'm goin to take it easy.  We shall see.  My diet for the last few days hasn't changed much.  Mostly soups, but lots of fruit and salad.  I miss meat so bad...ugh.

Day Sixteen

Today I hit the walking big time, to make up for yesterday!  First thing this morning, I did 2 1/2 miles.  My dog, Cody, had a vet appointment this morning to get up-to-date on his shots.  Lisa and I took him in.  It was great, he was so obedient.  Lisa taught him how to jump into the truck.
Some really pretty ladies at the vet ;)  I got Cody his shots, then I went ahead and got him a heart worm test, as those things are pretty common in this area.  He tested Negative, Yay!  I went ahead and also bought him some Heart Worm pills to prevent.  I got a 6 month supply so that really burned a hole in my savings, however it was for my little sonny boy, so it was totally worth it.  Next I'll have to bring our Chihuahua, Jayde, in.  She's also gotta be put on heart worm pills....and my cats need to get fixed too!  Dang, I'm really gonna be broke after a while.  Oh well, I love my little family and I provide for them the best I can.

So, Lisa went with her Grandma today.  Throughout the afternoon I stayed home.  All the squats I did yesterday fishing, my legs are super sore today!  Oh man, are they sore!  I feel like I did get some exercise in yesterday.  I did so many squats, up and down to get my pole off the ground, and running back and forth.  It was definitely a workout and I'm feeling it today so that was good!  I love feeling sore because it makes me realize that I did something.

This evening I did another 2 1/2 mile walk.  5 miles total today woohoo!!! Definitely made up for yesterday.  See, when I told you I was serious I flippin meant it!!!  Another day spent well.

Day Fifteen

Today was a dud day for exercise.  It's not that I didn't want to do it, I really did.  This morning I went fishing with Lisa.  It was super COLD though.  Damn it was cold today!  Heck with it, Grandpa joined me fishing out there.  We had an Awesome time.  My grandma and Lisa both went back to the truck, but me and Grandpa stood out the cold.  The wind was blowing like crazy off and on and it was cloudy.  We almost packed it up early, but I told him we should fish for ten minutes and if we didn't get any bites, then we'd head on out.  Sure enough, a few minutes later he caught one!  Then he caught another one.  Then he caught another one after that, but he lost it just after he got the hook out of it's mouth.  It slipped outta his hand and back into the lake.  By then, we were having so much fun.  I caught one, then another and another.  I pulled in about 5 fish.  I lost 3 of them.  We stayed until a bit after Noon.  It was so fun!  I'm glad I got to spend time with Grandpa out there.  I wish my dad came, but he went out on a road trip that day so I'll be planning another trip out to the lake with him soon, I hope.  It was a really fun, but cold morning.  Grandpa gave me his fish just before they left so I brought home seven fish.  Great healthy food, that'll add on to my health menu ;)

We stayed home the rest of the day, but then headed out for groceries later!  This evening since I hadn't walked, me and Lisa went and did a few laps.  Since it was pretty late, we didn't walk to much.  It was fine though.  I'm not beating myself up over it.  I'll make it up tomorrow since Lisa will be gone with her Grandma most the day.

Amazing day, though!

Day Fourteen - REST DAY

Woohoo, I'm so glad that I get to just take it easy!  Oh man, it's been a tough week of exercise.  I try to walk 5 miles a day.  The only problem with that is it really wears my legs out.  I'm still pretty heavy so I need to try and take it easy until I drop more pounds.  I want to check my weight now, but I really need to get that damn scale working or else just buy another one.  Most likely the way it's goin now, I won't be able to check my weight until I go back to the hospital for my Hernia appointment next week.

Today, I just took it easy at home.  I wasn't too much into goin anywhere today. Just hung around home, unlike last week when I spent the whole damn day in the waiting room at Big O Tires and A to Z tire, wasting my time.  Anyway, tomorrow I've got a fishing trip planned here at Farmington Lake.  I'm lookin forward to that.  I sure hope the weather is good.

Day Thirteen

Did 5 miles total today, walking.  I'm really working on trying to pick up my running again.  As for my food, I'm eating light still.  It does take it's toll on me, I gotta say.  Every now and then I do get the craving for a hamburger or some breaded chicken, yummy! But, I'm pretty strong willed and keep on keepin away from it all.

I worked on the exercise bike a bit today also. That thing really wears out my arms. I don't think I'm doing it right! We shall see ;}  So can't wait for my rest day tomorrow!!!!

On a big note, today was MOTHER'S DAY!!  I wanted to take my mom and everyone out for lunch, but they already had plans.  We all went to furrs and had lunch.  Me, Lisa, my sister, my mom n dad, my grandma and my other grandma and grandpa.  It was great!  I always enjoy all of us being together.  Everyone had really great yummy looking food there...guess what I had? Salad, veggies and fish, with water LOL.  Boy I sure am dedicated!  Anyone tells you I'm not, they can shove it.  I am not breaking my code of healthy food.  Let's do this!!!

Happy Mother's Day to All the moms out there!!!

Day Twelve

Ok, today was a good day definitely.  My hernia surgery was scheduled for May 20th at 10:15am.  I don't think it's the actual surgery, but then again I'm not sure.  It might just be the pre-op thing, or that's what my dad said.  We'll see on the 20th.  Hope they fix it soon!  I wanna quickly get healed up then get back to the ab exercising.  I wanna start seeing a damn 8 pack in another year heh heh ;)

Did 2 1/2 miles this morning.  I didn't attempt running today.  My right foot was a bit under the weather.  But I did do some pretty fast, heavy walking!  I worked up a good sweat.  I'm sure I burned off that slice of cake from last night.  We got a quick lunch at taco bell today.  We ate a Catina Bowl, I think that's what it was called.  It's supposed to be healthy.  It's got lots of vegetables, rice, black beans and some light chicken.  It's not a big meal, but it sure did us both in.

I also bought us a Huge gift, a brand new Nintendo Wii U.  I'm so happy!  I've been wanting one of those for the last year now.  We finally have one.  I talked to my uncle last night at my grandma's dinner.  He had surgery for a hernia about 12 years ago.  He said it takes about a month to heal up from it.  You can still walk but that's about it.  So, I'm going to keep up my daily walking, but I'm not sure I can do much of anything else so I bought us this Awesome Wii U so I can keep busy on my spare time while I'm healing up ;)  Totally looking forward to it!!!

Tomorrow I'm going to do 5 miles again.  I hadn't done it in a few days, only stuck to 2 1/2 miles.  My legs were pretty worn.  So, I'll do 5 tomorrow, then Monday is my Rest Day wooohooo!!!!! Can't wait :D

Day Eleven

Today was Amazing!  I loved it very much.  Me and Lisa did 2 1/2 miles today.  I also tried my first attempt at running.  I ran a pretty damn good distance.  I'm so proud of myself.  On the way back toward home, I ran.  Probably only about 300 yards.  Not too far and my knees didn't hurt or anything.  I was pretty damn winded, but it felt great.  I really worked up a sweat.  I loved it!

As a reward for our weekly, day to day exercising, I treated us out to Chili's restaurant for lunch.  We paid some bills, then headed over there.  We ate chips with Guacamole...omg it was sooo good!!!  I had a small meal of Salmon with rice and vegetables.  Oh my gosh I could not tell you how great that tasted.  Lisa ate a chicken salad.  Then we had strawberry lemonade.  It may have been some cheating in there with the chips, but oh my was it worth it!  The best meal I've had in so long.  I'd love to go back there, but probably not until next month sometime.  Gotta keep working off the pounds!  I wish I could check my weight, but our damn weigh scale is out of whack until I get some new batteries placed in it.  I'm sure I've lost a pound or two...or hopefully anyway.

Rode the exercise bike a bit this evening after coming home from my Grandma's birthday party.  That meal was not too good.  They ate Navajo tacos....big No NO for me!  I toned it down though.  I only had a spoonful and a half of beans with lettuce tomatoes onions and a small amount of shredded cheese on top and a bottle of water.  That was it!  After they passed out cake.  I Did Not want any of that, but my baby cousin gave me a slice and I can never say no to her so I went ahead and ate it.  Just a small 2 x 3 inch piece of chocolate ice cream cake.  I ate it super slow, just shaving off small slices at a time.  I'll have to work it off tomorrow morning :( But, all in all it was a great day!

Day Ten

My regular 2 1/2 miles this morning!  I had to go help out my grandma at the church and change out some filters for our air conditioner there.  It was tough climbing that ladder.  My legs are wiped out from the daily 5 miles.  I think for the next few days I'm just going to stick to 2 1/2 miles.  I don't wanna wear myself out.  I'll start up 5 miles again next week.

My grandpa gave me his old exercise bike that he kept in his room.  He's gotten knee surgery so he can't do it at all and my grandma can't do it either because it hurts her knees, so he gave it to me!  I'm so happy.  Once I get my bowflex cleaned up....yes I have a bowflex.  Oh and why am I this overweight when I have a nice Bowflex and DDP yoga in my possession?  Well, because I was just too damn lazy to use them all these years.  But dammit, make no mistake, I am going to use them both and when they work, I'll tell you exactly what to get.  Anyway, back to the bike, I got that set up in my living room so I can ride it while watching TV.  I'll put it in the room with my bowflex soon as I get that room clean.

No walking this evening.  My legs are aching, but I did ride on the exercise bike.  Oh man, that thing kicked my ass.  It's one of those that moves your arms forward and backward while you ride so your arms get one heck of a workout as well.  Mine started cramping up haha.  It was Awesome!

Day Nine

Lisa passed her Final, woohoo!!!  Now she can stop worrying about it.  She's been a nervous wreck the last few days.  Anyway, back to business!  I did 2 1/2 miles this morning.  My dog, Cody, has been going with me since Day One.  He's loving it because he gets to get out there and run around.  I love my dog so much.  He's an Awesome K9.  He's definitely getting his exercises in too.  He chases squirrels and lizards around all over the place on our walks.  Lisa goes with me when she's home, but most the time she's either at class or working, but now after today, all her classes are out for the summer so she'll be able to walk with me every morning.

Lunch was light.  We ate turkey burger with veggies.  For dinner, I had soup.  Lots of veggies in that.  I'm surprised at how many good foods are out there that are healthy for you!  I've only ever ate hamburger, breaded chicken, potatoes, drank sweet iced tea, soda, tater tots, steaks, chicken nuggets, bread.  Things like that.  That was my daily diet....yeah yeah I know it was bad, but cut me some slack, those kinds of foods are the cheapest.  You buy a big thing of hamburger and that plus potatoes will feed you good for about a week.  That was the reason.  That and NO exercise!  I can definitely see why I'm at the point I am.  But, it's all changed for the better.  I've drank so much water in the last week, I might float away soon.  My body feels great!  I'm still fighting the hunger problem.  Every now and then I get hungry, but rather than indulging in whatever like I used to, I just get a small cup of peanuts or veggie chips to hold off my hunger.  The other day, I ate carrots and peas.  Yes, I put it in that order rather than saying it the "Forrest Gump" way hahahaha!

2 1/2 miles tonight.  5 miles total today, that is excellent!!!

Day Eight

2 1/2 miles this morning.  Back at it!  I'm so proud of myself.  I don't think I've ever kept up this kind of exercise for this long in years and years.  I know now how serious I am and I thank God for giving me the strength to keep it up, just as I had asked.  Prayer works, people!  Trust me, prayer really does work!

Lisa is really keeping up with her exercises also.  She is cooking me some good food.  I'm eating so much vegetables and fruits that I feel like a damn rabbit!  It's only been a week, but I swear it sure feels like longer.  Day to day, walking and eating light, that sure takes its toll on you after a while.  I'm looking forward to what I'll be saying in 3 months.

We did another 2 1/2 miles this evening, it was Awesome!  Tomorrow Lisa has her finals for her Medical Terminology online class.  I sure hope she does good.

Day Seven - Rest Day

I decided to have a REST DAY!!! Say it with me...aaaaahhh!!!!!!  Oh man, the past 6 days I've been busting my ass out there.  My diet has completely turned around and I've walked more in the last week than I had in the last year!  I know I can do this.  My body feels great.  My stomach is not aching anymore.  Everything seems to be working good inside.

Instead of exercising, today I took my truck up town to get an alignment.  That sucked because the dudes at Big O wouldn't straighten my steering wheel.  It's upside down now.  Immediately after I left there, Lisa and I went to Subway.  I had a meatball sandwich.....NOOOOO, but I only ate some of it, then I tossed the rest once I felt full.  Had me some lemonade, which sure felt great rather than having water, my usual.  Anyway, I went to A to Z tires to see if they could fix my steering wheel....and No!  At first they said they could and that they were upset that Big O didn't do that for me.  Giving me the whole (glad you came to us) speech, here they had me waiting for 3 hours, constantly telling me they'll get to me soon.  I sat in their hot waiting room and my truck sat in the parking lot.  I watched impatiently as several customers came in after me and they got their vehicles right in and fixed, while I was waiting.  Finally, after the third hour, I said 'Screw This' and I picked up my keys off the counter exactly where I left them 3 hours prior, and I headed home.  Never said a word to them, nor did they say anything to me.  Screw that place, so if anyone lives in Farmington and reads this, I would suggest you NEVER go to A to Z tires!!

This evening, I had some fruit and watermelon.  It was a nice day!  Heading to bed early and back to exercising tomorrow!

Day Six

Started with my 2 1/2 miles.  I had church today, which I was scared of going.  I hadn't seen my dad in a while mainly because my mom has been pissed at me for dropping my CDL class.  But damn, I'm a grown man.  At 32 years old, I don't need my mom telling me how to live my life.  I swear, sometimes that woman thinks I'm still a teenager.  She herself really needs to grow up.

At church, I told my dad the whole story.  He's doing pretty good also, though his chest hurts.  He had heart surgery so he's still in the healing process himself.  Long way to go, but he's got it down!  He wants me to hold off on running.  He said I might blow out my knees because of my weight.  Yeah that's true, but seriously, I'm not a huge hefty looking guy.  Big yeah, but definitely not someone who you would think is 360 lbs.  I've seen guys that weigh that much, only 40 lbs away from 400 pounds, these dudes are Huge!  They can barely walk, and they've gotta have atleast 80 inch waists.  My waist size is a solid 46 inches.  Ten inches bigger than it was in high school, though in the summer of 2000 (my most memorable summer ever) I was running and dieting heavily so I dropped down to a lean all time low of 167 lbs.  My waist size was 32 inches.  So yeah, now I'm 46 inches which is bad I'll admit, but not super crazy out of hand bad.  It doesn't really match my weight.  My legs are lean, so are my arms.  I'm strong and swift, especially in walking.  The last few years I've been running on and off when I go out on my occasional walk.  I wouldn't run too far, but I'd do the whole run walk run walk thing.  Now, I'm pretty sure I can still do that but with the new knowledge that I have now about my weight, I'm too damn scared to even try.

We shall see how it goes.  I did another 2 1/2 miles this evening.  5 miles total again today, woohoo!

Day Five

Started off with my 2 1/2 mile walk.  I really wanna build up to running.  Dang, I know if I can get started with running, I will really drop weight quick.  Seems like such a slow moving process right now.  Lunch was light, so was dinner.  Did another 2 1/2 miles this evening.  5 miles total.  It's getting normal for me now, this change.  I'm loving it.  I didn't know how long I'd last, but so far, it's going good.

Day Four

Started off with my regular 2 1/2 miles of walking.  I gotta say though, I've been having a constant stomach ache though.  I don't believe it's my hernia that's causing it.  I think, and other's have been telling me especially Lisa, that it's because my diet has drastically changed and my body is getting used to it.  Sort of a detox stage I suppose!  I'm used to eating whenever I want and having the occasional hamburgers or Chinese food.  Basically stuff I've said goodbye to.  Well, for a long while anyway.  I'll have it again one day, but not for a long time.  So yeah, I believe my body is just getting used to this change.

Did another 2 1/2 miles this evening.  Breakfast was cereal today.  For lunch, we went to Subway and got a light meal.  I had a Flatizza, which is basically a pizza on flatbread.  It was probably not very good for me because the doc told me to stay away from bread!  My grandpa is really pressing that also.  He also had someone tell him once that if you really wanna lose weight, cut all the bread out of your diet.  So, that's my plan.  I'm eating foods that'll keep up my energy, but I'm also tryna cut all the bread out of my diet.  So...yeah today was a slip ;)

Day Three

First day of May.  Weather was kinda chilly, but nonetheless, I did my 2 1/2 miles of walking this morning.  Breakfast consisted of cereal, and lunch consisted of salad, with a small side portion of turkey burger.  Lots of water.

This evening, I didn't do another long walk, instead I took my first crack at DDP yoga.  It was tough, I haven't done it in a long time (months).  That stuff really works.  I need to be careful because of my hernia though so I can't really hit the yoga yet.  The doc told me I could try it but to be careful as not to make it worse.  Sux that I have to go easy.  I really wanna get after it and build up some major sweat but I've gotta start off easy.

Went to bed earlier.
