Day Forty Three

Today was a hectic day!  First thing this morning, I did my 2 1/2 miles.  I'm proud because today I started running!!!!!!  Woohoo!!!  I didn't run a long ways, but I ran much more than I used to before.  I ran two separate times during my walk this morning.  My legs felt great afterward.  I think I'm much more closer.  I wanna try running daily, but only for short distances until my legs really feel like they're ready.  I'm very excited for the days to come.

After getting home, we cleaned up then headed to the church to help out my grandma again.  I stacked up some boards and we helped rearrange some stuff in the chapel area.  That crazy pastor who almost stole our church building away from us, well he really messed the place up.  We finally really got everything in order now, since he left.  That's a whole other story, but a crazy one as well.

So after the church, we went and got groceries.  This is where the day got crazy.  On the way back, Lisa's car engine overheated.  Close to home, she started losing power and we almost got stranded.  Her engine was hot, then eventually started smoking.  Thank God we made it home though.  It was so hot outside this afternoon.  If we got stranded out there, we would've probably lost our food because we had bags of salad, milk and chicken breasts in the back.  Well we got home, unloaded everything, then just hung out the afternoon.  That evening, instead of finishing out my 5 miles, I worked on Lisa's car.  She helped.  First thing I did was put anti-freeze in her car.  After a minute, I noticed it was just pouring out of the engine.  Damn!  I sure hoped her engine block didn't crack because then we're fudged!!!!  Anyway, I found the leak.  Thankfully it wasn't her engine, but the bypass hose.  So we pulled that little bastard off.  Lisa's engine is really compact and that damn bypass hose is down a ways inside so I had trouble tryna fit my hand down there to squeeze the clamps and pull off the hose.  My hands were too big so Lisa tried.  She's got much smaller hands so she was able to fit down in there really good but she couldn't get the clamps off hahaha!  It was funny watching her.  She banged up her arms pretty good.  Anyway, she did some good though.  She was able to move one of them.  I did the other, then I got in there and pulled the hose off.  Yup, that was the leak.  It had a huge slit near the end by the clamp.  That's where all the antifreeze came shooting out of it.  So, luckily Lisa surprised me with $42 earlier today.  I used that money and we headed up to AutoZone to get a replacement.  I also had to buy some more antifreeze.  Her car is in not good shape.  I checked her air filter and that thing is soooo dirty!  I'm sure all her fluids are low.  That's probably why her engine got hot in the first place, she probably didn't even have any antifreeze in there!  Crazy.  Anyway, I bought the hose and everything.  It was dark when we got home so I'm not going to put it on tonight.  I'll wait until tomorrow after I do my morning walk, to put it back on.

Well, I didn't get to do my 5 miles today, but 2 1/2 is good enough.  I spent the evening working on Lisa's ride, doin something productive so I'm proud of that.  We'll see what happens tomorrow.  A great day, nonetheless.  Goodnight!
