Day Fifty Seven

Hello Hello!!!!!!  I'm back online!!!

Wow, this past weekend was so much fun!!!  I can't believe what a great time Lees and I had out there with Cody and Jayde.  The dogs loved it.  Cody swam!!!!  He actually swam lots.  Now Jackson Lake is/was a big reservoir and it is/was pretty deep.  The sucky thing about it this year, it was low.  Really REALLY low!!!  It was so low, we had to walk down quite a ways to actually get to the water.  That really sucked!  Honestly, if I had known how low it was, I would've probably went to another lake but I'm an idiot and I didn't check the lake before buying camping for 3 nights.  Plus, on Friday when we got there, it was dark and there wasn't anything to see.  I bought the campsite and paid the fees the next morning, but didn't go to check the lake first.  The dude working there actually said the lake had been stocked with fish last Wednesday.  1900 rainbow trout, so that really hooked my interest.  Well....the fishing sucked!  Seriously, there were fish jumping all over, but they just were not biting.  None of the bait I had worked, so that really sucked as well.  I caught only 3 fish the whole weekend.  So the fishing wasn't the good thing.  Instead, playing with Cody was what really took the cake out there.  He loved it.  I would skip rocks out in the lake and Cody would swim out there and try to get them.  He had so much fun.  He was swimming way out in the lake, just having a great time.  Jayde didn't swim.  She was kinda afraid of water, but she had fun exploring.
One night, oh man, Cody really made me proud.  We were at camp.  It was dark and pretty late.  We had just finished eating dinner.  All the sudden, Cody jumped up and growled, deeper than I've ever heard him growl before.  They he barked and chased something away.  I didn't see it, but Lisa said it was a deer.  A deer walked into our campsite and Cody chased it away!  I know, it was just a deer, but he didn't know what it was and he was protecting us.  Once something came towards us, he charged at it, protecting his family.  I was so so so proud of him!  I always thought he was too soft to do something like that, but I know now he's not.  I have so much proudness over him now.  He's a genuine watchdog now!
Anyway, I did all the cooking out there!  I cooked my first homemade hamburgers out there.  I didn't eat much bread.  Even out there, I'm still tryna watch what I eat.  I certain did not eat much.  We just ate sandwiches, mostly, and at night I would cook hot dogs or burgers over the grill.  Just a bit.  It was a camping trip so I didn't wanna go too extreme on the light foods.  We just didn't eat much.  I also packed lots of water, Diet Cokes and Diet Fresca (Lisa's favorite).  They were good.  We did have a cheat meal on Sunday afternoon though.  We were so hungry and got tired of the usual, so we drove down into Mancos and bought one large pizza.  Yup, Pizza!  I haven't had a pizza since April when we were in Albuquerque for my Dad's surgery.  It was sooo good.  I didn't eat much though.  We also shared it with Cody and Jayde.  Cody had a few slices to himself and he loved it.  Jayde had her share.  It was a good lunch and we had a great time sharing it with the dogs.  Also when I cooked in the evenings, I always cooked extra for Cody and Jayde.  They got their own hotdogs and hamburger as well.  It was such a great and fun time out there!  Lisa had lots of fun.  I didn't do much walking, however I did do some climbing!  Like I said, since the lake was so low, we had to load up all our stuff and crawl down the slopes to get to the water, then crawl back up with all our stuff so I guess you can say I did get some exercise in over the weekend.
Anyway, I also cooked a fish lisa caught on Sunday night.  Just one fish and it turned out really good.  We loaded up and headed home Monday around noon.  We had to charge up our phones before we left.  The drive home was pretty swift.  It only takes maybe an hour to get out there from home.  Not too long at all and it's a nice drive thru mountains.  When we got home though, ugh, I got super busy.  My grandma went and got a flat tire the day prior or so.  She didn't have anyone to change it.  My little brother, but he didn't do it.  My dad can't because he's still healing up from his heart surgery in April.  His chest won't be back to normal until maybe August or September.  Anyway, so when I got home, my grandma started complaining about it so as usual, I had to fix the problems.  That was a chore because one of her lug nuts was super tight!  They were all tight and I broke them loose, but one did not wanna come off.  I was so pissed off and tired.  When we got home, we unloaded the truck and put all the stuff away.  After that, we headed to town and grabbed some lunch.  I was still sweaty and stinky, I wanted to take a shower, but no I had to fix my grandma's problems first.  Don't think I'm a bad grandson.  The thing is, I'm always there for everyone in my family.  The problem is, most times I don't get much credit for the things I do.  My grandma has taken advantage of me a lot over the years.  Now, she just expects stuff.  If I'm busy, she'll expect me to drop everything I'm doing, to go do whatever it is she wants done.  She's that kind of woman.  We've had some really bad arguments and bad experiences in the past because of her behavior and attitude, but I always fixed everything.  It's gotten better, but there are times when she starts to get a little out of hand and Monday evening was definitely one of those times.  Just because I couldn't break that lug nut, she got mad and tried getting my little brother to break it but he couldn't do it either.  Well, I tried it again and I finally broke that damn thing.  It sure wasn't easy, but I did it!  After, because I'm a good guy, I drove her up town to get her tire replaced, then we went home and I put it on for her.  She gave me a quick thank you, then ran inside her house and that was it!  I was mad.  Wasted my energy and she didn't even seem very grateful for what I did and all the trouble I went thru.  That made me mad.  I also had to dig in my storage because my brother broke his bed and my dad asked if I had a bed frame that my brother could have.  So I did that too.  Dug it out and put it together.  So after that, I was pretty worn out.  I wanted to do my 3 miles yesterday evening, but because I was out fixing her tire, I used up all my remaining energy so I finally just took a cold shower, then relaxed the rest of the evening.  And that was my weekend of camping and the troubles when I came home.  I sure felt like, dang I leave for a few days and this place falls apart LOL.

Ok, that was a quick rundown of my trip.  Now we get to today!  I told you before I left that I was going to get right back to it when I got home and that's what I did.  This morning, I got up and did my 3 miles.  Since it was my first walk since last week, I didn't want to get right to running.  I wanted to ease into it so I just did a swift walk.  It felt great!  My legs felt so strong and refreshed.  I felt like I could run, but I didn't wanna wear myself out.  Lisa walked with me.  She's also easing back into it.  She didn't do her usual 1 mile run, then DDPyoga.  Instead, she did the swift walk with me.

The day got kinda hectic because Lisa had to go do training to get her card to work.  Thats' why she got sent home for a few days, because she wasn't allowed to work until she got that card.  So this afternoon, she did her training and immediately after her training, her boss needed her to come straight to work.  So she left at Noon and around 4pm, she called me and said she was on her break.  Class was over at 5pm or so but they had a quick 5 minute break.  I felt so bad because she said she was really thirsty and that she didn't have any money to buy a pop or water, which everyone else was doing.  So, I took off and went up town.  I bought her a meal at Captain D's, then bought her a large Iced Tea, also I took her a cold Fresca for later, then I drove up to meet her at her training facility.  She was so happy and thankful.  I was glad to help her.  I didn't want her starving or thirsty!  She was happy.  After that, I hurried home, got ready then I went out and did my 3 miles for the evening, finishing up my 6 miles for the day!

This evening, my mom and dad invited our new pastor of our church to their house for dinner.  They invited me so I headed over there when I got done with my walk.  It was nice!  We had lots of laughs and great conversation.  I learned a bit more about the Bible too and some things I didn't really know or think about before.  Great perspective!  The pastor is a very knowledgeable man.

So after dinner, I came home and relaxed the evening!  Another great day!  Such a great weekend and my body feels great and recharged.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow!  Long blog here ;)  Thankx for reading though and Goodnight!
