Day Two Hundred Eighty Four

Today was a pretty mellow day. Got up, did my 3 miles this morning. It was good! Lisa came with me. She's really wanting to start running. She's ready to roll and really get to losing weight. She has so much potential in exercise. Seriously, that girl can run! She's not in shape, she has a long road ahead of her, but let me tell you, she used to run back when she was a kid in Middle School. She was a cross country runner. Somehow, that gift of running stayed with her. She may not be in shape and has extra weight on her, but she can outrun anyone, even some runners who have been running for years. At any given moment, she could take off and run one, even two miles non stop. I could never do that! I'm still trying to build myself up to running half a mile non stop and I've been at this since April 28, 2014. That is really only because my weight was really high and I had no idea until that day. So because of that, I didn't want to wear out my knees right away by pushing myself too hard. I need to go very slow and slowly work my way up to it as my weight drops. Now, I've dropped a lot of weight, but I don't feel I'm at a place where I can really start a daily running routine, also since both November and December are now officially my Off Season. That's what I call them. Every person working out will have an off season, especially if they've been at it for a long time. I have been! Since April 28th of last year, I had been busting my ass everyday. I started off walking 5 miles, to beefing it up to 6 miles per day. I did great and I've lost so much weight. Once the end of the year came around, however, I really began to slack in my routine. My walks had to be cut down to 3 miles because my knees were really bad because of my accident where I tripped and tumbled up at Chama during my Elk Hunt in September. That really crapped out my knee for a while. After I got home, I still did 6 miles but my knee was really bothering me so I had to take some time off. I think I took about a week off of exercising to let myself heal up, after that I really took it easy out there. I didn't walk to fast, just kept my legs mobile but didn't really push myself. I did that thru the end of October, then throughout November and December. Once January hit, I realized I needed to get back out there and start hitting it hard again because the scale says I put back on some weight. I did that because my eating restrictions kinda went out the window during the holidays. Well, now I'm back on the eating restrictions and I've been pushing myself really hard. Every morning after my walks, I'm sweatin bad and my legs are super tired! It feels great. I'm also drinking lots of water daily. I'm still trying to finish off my gallon per day. Almost there, but not quite.

Anyway, Lisa is doing great! I'm going to push her until she gets to her goals, just like I have pushed her throughout her life and with that, she's doing Amazing! She'll be applying for the Nursing Program this year after getting all her classes done. She's maintained a 4.0 GPA while having a full time job. She's really getting it done out there and I'm so proud of her!

Now, it's time for me to start working on myself and that's what Fyrescape is all about. Little under 3 months left and I'm really going to get busy ;} Well, that is all for today! Goodnight.
